Morettes
The people I spoke to are agents for Morette. They are called Rapid Ford and they're in Dunstable. Their number is 01582 696111.

Hey, I've just seen all 4 optics on Ebay for £37. Somebody is going to say: "They're a Rumanian copy of a Chinese copy" Well, the alternative is Morettes themselves (now back in business) who charge £250. Ebay here I come.

Thanks Timmo. I've looked at the hot links you provided, and have just been to look at the fitting situation, and guess what, the two outers are showing signs of rust as well! Before I go back to the retailers, can I get my facts straight. The way mine work is: with the switch on dipped beam the two...

I've got the Morette quad conversion on my 16V and just noticed that the two inners have rusty reflectors. Then I noticed that all 4 lamps say Cibie not Morette. Are Cibies cheaper? Could that be why they are there? Anybody got any for sale? Thanks.

tools req'd for door card removal
Frost do a very handy pair of flat levers with slots down the middle for levering off the cards and little white poppers without tearing the card. If you break any poppers though, I have seen them in an ordinary car accessory shop.

Bloody Insurance!
Adrian Flux laid a big increase for renewal on me this year. I have the 16V and the 4x4 with them. They also refused to do an agreed value on the 4x4 any more after an accident but still insisted on limited mileage !! I told them I was not happy and have got a quote from Peter Best of Kelvedon, Esse...

BX 4x4 ABS sensors
I had a sensor light stay on. Check the foot of the loom from the ignition switch. On ABS cars there is an extra green wire that connects outside the loom connector to another little green wire . Have you put a new ignition switch in? If so you may have a non-ABS loom.

interior lights dont work
Mine don't work on the driver's door switch but do work on the other door switches. Which means that the 'lights on' buzzer doesn't work if you're driving the car alone.I know it's not the door switch because I've earthed the brown wire to the door switch and still no luck. The brown wire disappears...

Who's on the road (or could be) who is not
Mine's on the road. By the way, insurance is cheaper if you go down the agreed value/limited mileage route. I pay £210pa with Adrian Flux fully comp, 5000 miles a year, agreed value £1700 thanks to Toddman very kindly confirming it. Top man. I don't use it every day but nor do I keep it stationary o...

16v engine number
Call me blind as a bat, but I simply cannot find the engine number on the engine of my 16V. Haynes says it is on the offside, but I'm blowed if I can find it.

fitting twin fans to 16v
Bingo ! Today I found a twin fan array at a warehouse full of Citroen/Peugeot bits in Tetbury. Written on it in yellow was 'BX 16V air con'. I now need to look at the wiring. PS I haven't got air con.

fitting twin fans to 16v
Thanks Pete. I had noticed spring clips/speed nuts in odd places on the various fans I've got, and some sixth sense made me leave them in place! Your links result in 'page unavailable' by the way.
As modifying fan blades ain't on, has anyone out there got a 5-blade they want to sell/swop ?

Fitting twin fans to 16v
I thought it would be a good idea to fit twin fans a la turbo diesel to my 16v. I took the fans off a turbo diesel (at Tescos car park, hope the owner doesn't mind) and lo and behold they're 9 blades and bigger in diameter than my 5 blade one. The motor fits on my frame though. I suppose I could go ...

Got any front foglights? No? I'll get my coat then
Thanks Timmo. Never thought I'd be chasing after scrapped Clios but that's just the sort of information that makes clubs so interesting. I've got another non-BX item, a ZX leather rimmed steering wheel. Much better than the BX one.

I suppose a quest for working front foglights either entire or in bits is hopeless. Mine are like something from an archaeological dig. So yours probably are as well.New ones are still listed by Citroen but at £50 each.
Oh well, I thought I'd try.
