Re: a few bits

If you fail to find an OEM exhaust I can recommend the place I used in Carshalton for a stainless replacement :D

Re: 2017 Who is on the road?

Done more miles in the phase 1 in the last 2 months than about the last 5 years combined, I reckon! Will probably be tucked away before the end of the month before the roads get too horrid. Knocked a lot of jobs off the list over the last couple of months that I've had it with me in Surrey rather th...

Re: Club member selling up

Are parts still available Rob? The ph1 has done 1 mile between MOT passed, with a bill for £400 for steering rack gaitor replacement and a new rear wheel bearing. Went to dig it out of my dad's garage on Friday and it now won't start - appears the fuel pump may be knackered after running with too li...

Just checking in

Hi all Not been on here in a while - the p1 valver is still down at my parents - went for its MOT today and has done a grand total of 41 miles in the past 12 months! Condition is still pretty good although a respray would still be needed to make it mint. Being garaged in the warm has helped and it d...

Re: G-VOT is back on ebay!!

My p2 used to 'reliably' break down precisely a week after every service - always something different and always unrelated to the service! It just used to like to test your resolve after opening your wallet! I can't recall when Keith owned the car - 10 years ago, or maybe less? Certainly don't recal...

Re: G-VOT is back on ebay!!

Shame it's got into such a state :? Was a very clean car from what I remember Kitsch should know more about its general condition as he's the specialist mentioned in the advert that's been working on it. I suspect a self-spannering person could sort most of it - the seller I don't think has much luc...

Re: Silicone water hoses for the BX valver

Thanks Vanny - I remember seeing figures quoted around £200 when this was first mentioned, but wasn't sure what the end price was for the group buy, when it happened. I remember well coughing up a lot of money to re-pipe my p2 years ago - I got one of the last bottom hoses and from memory that was a...

Re: Silicone water hoses for the BX valver

Hi folks

I've noted the prices on the Baker web site - just wondered if that's the going rate for members or if Stuart is still giving any discount? I know it's a limited market in terms of number of buyers but totting up the coolant and oil breather hoses gets a bit eye watering!

Cheers

Probably wouldn't make much difference to cost, assuming your insurer will swallow that the value has gone up. You might have to justify it in terms of work done on the car or try to swing it that the market is on the up (which I think it is judging by some of the tat on ebay that seems to fetch goo...

Another one local :) my car lives in the West Country so rarely spotted round our way, at least at the moment. May change if I can find suitable storage near Horley that isn't on court lodge! Friend had a garage there that was regularly ransacked :/ Gary has my number so if you arrange to meet will ...

Still part own the phase 1 valver with my dad - one day it will get proper garage queen status and get the bodywork sorted. In the meantime it's still probably one of very few more or less original unmolested early valvers left in the UK so it's staying put :)
