Hello Been a while since I updated this! Have been concentrating on getting this finished http://www.mark-chapman.com/uploads/coil5.JPG But I've started back on the BX. Picked up a VEMS ecu (was using megasquirt, but it's a hassle with the single ignition driver), and have chopped the front of the c...

Not a huge amount to update so far, just waiting on one more idler for the timing belt install. I found a seller on ebay (aep direct) that did me the tensioner and rollers for about £120 - thats a saving of a lot from stealer prices, I needn't mention! She needs a new clutch as well, so going to get...

If you take the subframe out to put it in from the bottom up, you have the hassle of removing all the pipes! Im using a xantia pump - as I have a pile of them spare! And there is nowhere to drive it on the far side of the V6. Accessories all driven from crank pulley - and there could be issues with ...

BX V6 Update

Well, since I started doing more miles at work as I've now moved 35 miles from Belfast I decided it was a requirement to have something a little more entertaining than the xantia TD estate as a daily driver - but still be reasonably economical. I first of all looked on ebay for a Saab 95, then I loo...

They give overheating and head gasket issues if they arent looked after properly - if they are looked after, theyre very reliable.

The engine was originally a water pump.

Re: engines

Sounds like you have it all worke dout 8) But tell me more about your Imp ? I had two of the 875cc Imps years back and they were cool, that engine paved the way for the sucess of Peugeot I reckon. Cheers Luke I've 2 - a singer chamois and an Imp Super. The super has 1900 miles from new (1971) and h...

almost impossible. a turbo XM lump in may be abetter bet.

Test fitting is tomorrow. Aircon pump will be removed - as I'll be running it on a spare Emerald K3 ECU. I'll mount HP pump where the power steering pump is. Cooling system will be simple - thermostatic switch, relay and a fan. If it needs it, radiator in the back, the same as my Hillman Imp, and th...

Engine transplant

Heracy, I know, but I couldnt resist it. I have 4 BX 16V's as it is - and was browsing ebay one night and came across a V6 that was too cheap to pass up. I got the box, loom, driveshafts, ECU and all ancillaries and manifold for £100!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=S...
