Point taken on higher risks with alloy flywheels, but no plans to fit a poor component or fit a good one badly!! there is an equation that describes the weight and inertia of a rotating mass, anyone who challenges the need to minimise rotating mass in a competition engine has no proper competition e...

Hi, interested how the brake thread is going, haven't looked for a while. I have a 16V phase two in which is to some extent being cloned to my own racer. The car is now up and running on 8 x 16 front, 7 x 16 rear Compomotive MOs with graphite grey centres and diamond cut rims, as the original. 288mm...

I haven't checked out a new 16V downpipe for a while, but one thing's for sure, a new downpipe, even a Citroen supplied one, may well not be exactly the same spec as the original one fitted when the car was new, even if it's the same make. An awful lot of new exhaust parts supplied by manufacturers ...

Hope So!!! Just want them to never overheat on a big sticky tyre with maximum beans for a sustained period. Should have my disc spacing shims for this weekend, very tempting to try the big brakes on the blue car at Lydden two weekends away. Car was fun with Matt driving at Brands Hatch, first time o...

Rear subframe front bushes
Hi, am about to whip a rear subframe front mounting off the big brake car to have some nylon ones made - two pairs of top hats, in case anyone wants a set made at the same time. They of course have no give whatsoever. made some for the orange thing in 1997, still in there, despite the change in colo...

Hi, started on the 288mm conversion today, would appear that the disc needs spacing outwards a little - 288mm disc thicker than 283mm one i think, which is fab for heat dissipation, not for ease of fitting! The calliper needs spacing inwards a little, which is a little easier! Now awaiting laser cut...

Hi, Ignition relay is a nice idea, probably not the reason yours wont start, but an awful lot of BXs had starter motor replacements when the true reason was volt drop across the ignition switch, so just getting the ignition switch to operate a relay in the engine bay works well. I've done loads of t...

Hi, the way i've described to fit the cable is based on experience, i've also given the mobile version if you like! it takes about an hour if you know the way round but of course a bit longer on the first one. if you don't take the pedal box out, you don't get to inspect it. i've had to realign and ...
