I've now spoken with Mike and agreed to meet up on Saturday and take it from there. I've now got until Monday lunchtime to move the cars. I'll sort out the two silver ones before I start on the other two valvers but please PM me if there is any interest.

Need to sell valver and 8v auto urgently

I'm losing warehouse space for two BXs with no viable affordable alternative. I have 3 valvers, at least one must go quickly but I can garage one so may be keeping one, or two :) depending on offers: (1) the grey Phase 1 105,928m - the one Jon Woods did all the welding on http://www.bxclub.co.uk/for...

This is an excellent opportunity to mention here that I do have a silver GTI 8v auto for sale to a good home, hopefully in the near future. I need to thin out my BX collection, updated details of valver for sale may well appear shortly!

Hi Vanny, thanks for the link. Yes despite your good efforts I’ve still got all the cars. I had a couple of enquiries, (much appreciated , thank you) both for the red Phase 2, but not even the serious one worked out. Well my little publicise-the-BX idea needs 150mph, and it seems the six-speed gearb...

Autobahn Thrash

My late 16v Cat BX which has the DFW engine which is best for supercharging. The car currently goes but is an MOT failure because of emissions... It also has cosmetic rather than structural bodywork damage to the offside rear quarter. So I am wondering what top speed and reliability could be obtaine...

Timmo that’s very kind but we are 242 AA miles from Bodmin! Mind you the prospect of passing half of England gridlocked on the other carriageway might have some appeal. Regarding spanners, it’s probably safer for me to drive it to the garage with the old belt rather fit a new one myself and then try...

Cambelt Concern

Space constraints have kept my low mileage silver 16valve trapped in the garage and it hasn’t been started for a while. Cost of the other valvers and a tale of woe re local garages mean the cambelt hasn’t been changed yet. It now needs to be started again and moved a couple of lengths to access the ...

Well, first the car is much happier now with some fresh petrol than it was when Vanny drove it. I drove it 20 miles to Warwick for an MOT and the temp sensor stayed at 90 except when stuck in traffic (max at 105 but still rising). It didn’t seem to cope as well with the cooler morning start (tickove...

Sorry Vanny, I read your post too late! But never mind I got two others so may well give your suggestion a try tomorrow :) You have PM about the result. Need to gather my thoughts.

Hi Vanny thanks for hte information - and the advice. Car is booked in for MOT, and of course the sensor, tomorrow, the idea being to establish just how much work is required in total and find out if it needs to go to be recycled while it is still driveable! I have four BXs and can only keep two. MO...

Luke, thanks for your post! Very reassured to know this is at least the correct ECU. Apparently worst case would be it can be serviced for about £50 by mail order, but I had a bad afternoon finding seven garages (out of seven) didn’t want to know about checking it once it was back in the car. It mak...

Thanks for starting a new thread Vanny. All my engine pictures are at the wrong angle for this pipe but it's all I have tonight:
