Re: LHS electric wing mirror

Sorry for the late reply - life has taken a bit of a curve everywhere - but any luck with the mirror?
Thanks

LHS electric wing mirror

I hit my mirror backing out of drive (fitted every other time?). Replaced the glass but the plastic? screw mountings that hold the outer cover are broken. I have tried many different glues but none have held. So, has anyone used a glue that works? OR Has anyone got a LHS electric wing mirror that th...

Re: BX16v.com and the future of the site

After a long long time, we finally have the BX16v.com domain back! I would like to offer my thanks to Atanas/CoolMan for giving us the opportunity to acquire the domain name, and for the support and patience given in making the transfer happen! Now that we have the domain name back, there will be s...

Re: Silicone water hoses for the BX valver

Well I have now got 700km on the rebuilt engine fitted with the silicone hoses. In the last few runs I have noticed a coolant smell when shutting down. Had a look round the engine bay and noticed some dried coolant that appears to be weeping from the fibre in between the inner and outer silicone. I ...

I fitted a mechanical gauge as a checking device. The electrical gauge is reading low, but uniformly low :?: I have fitted new earths and checked the wires - no result. I am happy that there is good pressure so will live with it? Cheers Michael P.S. The engine now has 500+km on it and is freed up ni...

Well I have fixed it. A long'ish story, so read on if you are interested. First up it was me who most probably caused the problem in the beginning. I had the instrument panel and under dash wires out/disturbed when chasing a oil pressure gauge and cruise control problem. So; I have a spare instrumen...

1993 BX16v instrument panel lights not working

I have noticed a few nights ago that I have lost the lighting to the LHS of my instrument panel. RHS is working fine. Not just one or two bulbs but the whole lot. Looking at the Haynes book of fairy tales wiring diagram only shows the power into a line of light bulbs through to the earth. I have pow...

Well, engine out and I pressure cleaned the engine bay. I removed the octopus's and pressure cleaned again. The hard part is going to remember the routing for the new octopus's :? The replacement engine is ready to go in and I am replacing a lot of other items as I have them out or I now have access...

Got a reply from Stew, and he is sending over a replacement hose. Great service, thanks Stewart.
Now to start the process of taking out the old engine and fit the new one. Looking forward to the hours on my back on the concrete floor - NOT!

Would you believe after almost 3 years I am finally going to fit the silicone hoses to an engine I am rebuilding. So I have tried to fit these hoses and find, as others have, that hose to fit where No 10 in the diagram is, will not fit. I have a 90 degree silicone hose where it needs to have a "...

Hi Chris
Thanks for the info, will contact a few places. Re the mud flap - no luck. :(
I will be replacing the engine over winter - cold months project - and figure that will be the best time to replace the octopus lines.
Cheers

Octopuss availability?

Hi
Anyone know where I can get the 2 new octopus return lines from? I have looked on the internet without any success. Contact details would be appreciated of a supplier.
Cheers
