Well I've decided it's got to go. I'd like to own another 16v in the future, but for now I want to concentrate on the Rover which means I haven't got any spare time/cash to fiddle with the BX. Instead I need something with plenty of MoT that'll keep me going over the winter. I've been talking to Big...

I'd rather not send it to it's death TBH, but at the end of the day it's not mint and if people are after a 16v they'll often want a tidy one. I'm not fussy about that sort of thing which is how I ended up with it :) I've done my best to restore what I could on a limited budget though! However, as u...

16v for sale.... maybe
Hey guys, I'm considering selling my 16v :( I'm spending too much time and money on it, when I really want to spend my spare cash on the Rover. It's currently got no tax or MoT and it's leaking LHM from somewhere. Doesn't sound too good, I know, but if someone was interested I could get the leak sor...

I used to drive a milk float that didn't have a speedo :) From a personal point of view though I would keep all the standard gauges as all 6 of them are useful, especially on a track day car! But just loose all the unecessary trim around them, and perhaps as Adrian says, make up some basic light wei...

I paid just under £30 from Citroen about a year ago for just the gasket. If you want to do it properly you'll also need the rubber seals for the spark plug and bolt holes. I had the bolt seals which were about £1.20 each but couldn't get the spark plug seals so just used instant gasket which worked ...

Re: Why we do it!
I wish I could, but the car's locked in my garage with no tax, no MoT, no front bumper and leaking LHM all over the floorTimmo wrote: if in doubt go and give your motor some beens!:D
If this damn rain would let up I might be able to start getting it back up-together!

Unless you're a bit wealthy £700 is a lot though. Especially when you could claim on the insurance, keep the car and break it for parts and then use the proceeds to buy another roadworthy 16v. You'd walk away in profit, with a roadworthy car and a load of spares to keep it going for quite a while. N...

By the look of it it's gonna be a bit of a mess and he himself bought it for a kit car conversion. And with no tax or MoT and being sat for a few years the only place it's likely to go is a Pug as there doesn't seem to be many interested in saving the BXs, so from his POV there's probably no point p...
