Re: The return of Bertie
Bertie has been entered for saloon races at Lydden in 3 weeks time. Also entry placed for Brands Hatch end of July. Just want to get out and have a play. Hope to have Xsara out end of season even if just for testing.

Re: The return of Bertie
Quick update on Bertie. Work has been getting in the way of playing with cars so it is a slow process getting him thoroughly sorted before he gets back on track later this year. Not helping that the VTS is needing so much time. Again this should be out later in the year.

Re: The return of Bertie
Pretty much as you say above. Roof trim pieces are glued on and have locating lugs IIRC. We just prised the edges up and cut mastic stuff and lugs with a hacksaw blade. Internally we don't have trim so everything was already out. Welds were drilled, a few went right through but no harm done - I thin...

Re: The return of Bertie
Belated New Year greetings. Provisional calendars are out for the season. QMN has 8 rounds - 6 at Brands Hatch, 2 at Lydden. Well spaced on the calendar with minimum of 3 weeks between rounds. Special Saloons has only 4 rounds - Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Mallory Park and Donington Park. None of the...

Re: New member with racecar!
So I have got me this stuff to fit: http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae349/Humungous/67E51F71-4F39-4AA9-9A8F-FB4C0B29BCB1_zpsgx67pmje.png Should stiffen up the handling a fair bit! With the restrictions in the regs are you ok to run this set up? I assume you intend to run this instead of the orig...

Re: New member with racecar!
First race of our new season here, and I have been allowed to upgrade to 15" wheels: http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae349/Humungous/B6839B94-5C67-4273-B7AA-C7142515C997_zpshdwb5wyh.jpg Yep - Xantia alloys and a can of black paint! Not the lightest wheels, but they were free... I think they...

Re: The return of Bertie
My number crunching was correct. 2nd in class of 12 and 8th out of 50.
Anywho, it is on telly next week - 27th. Motors TV is where it is happening and you never know they may even show a bit of incar Bertie!

16v bits
Been approached by a guy who has some bits to sell.
Complete head is the main thing. He is after £250 ono. Believe he has a few odd engine bits and some rear lights.
Anyhow he is down in Devon and goes by the name of Elliot. Not sure about putting his number up so PM me for it.

Re: The return of Bertie
Worth turning up as we grabbed a 6th in the first race to help with the points tally. 9th in race 2 did not matter as we used as dropped score leaving us I reckon 8th overall and 2nd in class.

Re: The return of Bertie
We had an issue with parts which jammed and would not allow front to drop. This was probably due to leaving the car on stands with the front end hanging in the air for several weeks.
Nine in class now. Hardly worth turning up if we finish 9th!

Re: The return of Bertie
Entry list out for Brands. 8 in our class which puts us 8th on paper as the others are all def quicker based on past performances. The engine felt really good at Lydden but unable to gauge how good with the front end bouncing all over the place - Jack can't believe the car got through the meeting wi...

Re: The return of Bertie
Rods have arrived. They look ok to my untrained eye. I'll pass them over to Andy and see what he thinks.
