sounds to me very much like a failed ignition module/amplifier. located on a heatsink on the bulkhead. try swopping it with a known good one to see if it fixes the problem. trouble is, i've realised that some pattern replacement parts (e.g. 'intermotor') don't work - so if possible get a genuine bos...

vanny sir, i beg to differ: i've got genuine 16v front spheres on mine.. and they look exactly like that.

i had a bx14 a few years ago - now *those* spheres certainly were small.

over and nitpicker out.

two water temp sensors - one feeds the gauge and the other the red 'your head gasket is buggered' light. haynes wiring diagram will tell you how to discern one from the other. it's the same story with the oil pressure - one sensor for the gague, t'other for the warning light. oil temp sensor is in t...

fuel filter or maybe tired fuel pump?

when my fuel filter was blocked i had similar symptoms, especially when the tank was running out.

rather bizarrely i think, fuel filters on these machines are given something like a 70,000 mile service interval. which seems way too much.

one more year but damp boot

just passed the MoT clean through, not even any advisories! pretty chuffed. got them to put on a couple of new rear spheres too, (i did the front a year or so ago). makes such a difference on the motorway, love that floaty feeling :D one question tho - the boot floor is soaking. i know from previous...

when i 1st got my 16v i used to run between bristol and brighton to see my gf, often in the middle of the night. would usually hit the A329M within the hour, and then another hour or so to brighton.

the m23 at 2am is pretty quiet! 8) 8)
