We hooked it up to a Co2 machine, pulled the cover off the AFM and moved the round cog a bit until it seemed to be running happier and at the right Co2 level. The Co2 screw in the back allows fine tuning of it once the cogs in a better place.

I would actually say £225 with the modified intake manifold and a full loom is actually quite a good price. It doesn't take much to pull it to bits and change the seals over etc.

Me and a mate have just had our Frogeye Sprite done. It went in a bare shell, with rustproofing, silicone, rust, bare metal and quite a few dings on it, plus a rotten out inner rear arch. Job came to £3500 for the full works. Fully undersealed, smoothed, filled, primed and painted etc plus all the w...

My 16v has twin heated mirrors. Thought they all did?

Well all the models with twin electric mirrors, as I found out courtesy of Luke that its only sometime in 1990 that they got the pair rather than just passenger side.

The AFM is basically a resistor and as the engine draws air in it opens a flap. As this flap opens it moves a needle which alters the flow of electrical current going back to the ECU so that in turn varies the fuel being injected to compensate. Retracking is to do with the position of the needle in ...

I found with valve stem seals, if the car is idling for a while and then you rev it a bit you can blow blue smoke. Also if you race the engine, you get blue smoke on the overrun, but that was about it. Under load and normal driving showed nothing, and mine were rock hard and perished! Whereas piston...

First question I would look through your yellow pages mate. It varies from area to area.
Second sounds like valve stem oil seals. Common to go hard after 100k miles on most engines. Won't kill it, just makes it smoke.

Ah that'll be why ypu still have it then. BX 16v owners rarely need an engine. In fact in the last two years I think the only person who have killed their engine was....erm, me. If they did they wouldn't be willing to pay the money the 205 brigade pay either. What about the 405 Mi16 forum, or...

Already got it on DVD :D

In the special features they interview the guy whos in charge of the car chases and he says how the sounds are real (the XM certainly sounds right) and the chases were done full on without effects.

Oh yeah, I'd got it running but it wasn't road legal and had quite a few teething issues.

Well we'd better arrange another one before I retire the car for a while!
