1999 for me as well :D Can't remember which of the 6 cars I owned back then were actually road legal, so will hedge my bets and say it was probably either a VW Golf GTI Mk1, or a VW Passat GL5 (5 cylinder injection) or my trusty Ford Cortina Mk2 2 door GT I sold all of these plus a couple of other '...

mate of mine had an Orion 1.6 Ghia with decent lowered suspension, tarox brakes, Janspeed exhaust, Yokohama tyres and a decent head - went like stink, and handled very well (can't remember the suspension kit, but remember it was pukka at the time) Had it from new, did 150k between father and son bef...

Could be clogged injectors? If they're dribbling rather than spraying it might be masked at higher revs, but bad at idle

Might be worth a look see

Just watched the video of the running up after exhaust fitting - that sounds gorgeous, if a bit rattly at the top end presumably from being stored? Did I read your gallery right and this engine used to run on LPG? Would the conversion work OK on right hand drive? How's the handling given that lump m...

You can also use it in irons to stop them furring up - same principle for a car cooling system. Have always done it ever since I used an inline filter system we had at work for cooling system water and radiators will last a lot longer You can buy it in 5 litre bottles for next to nothing - I buy the...

Will 2nd Rob's comments ref distilled water for filling (and proper Citroen antigel) With aircon fitted you really should have 2 fans there, so take a look through the grill! If it hasn't then you need to take a careful look at the wiring and see if there's somewhere already there to wire a 2nd one ...

Tim I did the same thing on my old phase 2, and added night time dimming as well as switched 12V. You can do both taking feeds off different wires from the plug on the back of the clock 8) Just have to identify which wire is +12V when (a) ignition on and (b) when lights are on and clock dims. You ca...

Tim (Leech)

Is that for classic/limited mileage policies, or normal? Have agreed value on ours and wouldn't be without it.

Only ones I recognise are: 1. Trim screws from the plastic bits around the edge of the interior trim 2. Looks like a seat bolt, and I don't think that nut and bolt are for the same purpose as the bolt's not long enough for the nut. 4. Think these are inlet manifold bolts 11. Exhaust gasket - inlet o...

Think the leather rear restraints were an option, as were the non-leather (about £50 from memory for cloth?) I think the number of 16Vs sold with leather and air-con could probably be counted on your fingers, and maybe toes! I remember going on a course a few years ago and one of the blokes on it ha...

The Xsara uses the same box, and has a non-cable drive for the speedo Think the biggest problem for this will be designing a way to drive the speedo head itself, which is purely mechanical. I suspect this wouldn't be possible, unless an intermediate age Citroen had a mix of digital and mechanical sy...

My late phase 2 was electric on both sides, but the phase 1 is only electric on the passenger side - the switch is there for both but when I got Witmun's to take a look and 're-fit' an electric drivers side it turned out there wasn't any wiring for it  Think the mirror/fog light switch panel is...

Mine used to do that - was a dodgy wire to one of the front sensors, and would come on approaching junctions etc when you put a bit of lock on. The nearside one appeared to have had battery acid spilt on it at some point and it'd eaten through the outer cable.
