The linkages wear - big time! connecting a multimeter to it and gradually operating it manually and watch reading (set to Ohms) to detect breaks. I hate these problems, right bloody minefield trying to work out what's causing what etc. But what I do know is that a high idle can occur if the throttle plates are adjusted to be too open at idle. This is because the idle speed control valve is unable to close enough to compensate for a throttle b...

Luke, isn't that the retracking info for the 8 valve AFM? It's hard to explain but on all Mi16 AFMs I've seen some of the screws you need to undo arent accessable.Toddman wrote:You can download the retrack instructions here

iirc the 8v has less torque than the 16v! if it had the same then it would have more torque than the bhp output! i was pretty sure that the 8v had 118lbft (pug 8v gti with 130bhp!) Yeah though the 8 valve 1.9i engine in the BX and 405 Sri has something like 127lbs of torque. Over on the 205 forum w...
