maybe he's colour blind?! Seriously, the black material can go an almost-dark green colour from exposure to the sun so I wouldn't worry too much about it. The one question to ask is whether one of the seats (drivers) has the lumbar adjustment wheel half way up the backrest - if it does it's 16V for ...

Cheers for the info mate Am now slightly confused, after checking out the GSF site as it quotes the same number for BX 16V = ZX 8V petrol = Xantia 8V petrol (N90124) It then lists a BX TD = ZX TD starter = Xantia D/TD (N90130) but from what you're saying the Xantia and ZX starters should have differ...

Yep, front section of centre console out, front end in the air and wheels off, and hopefully an assistant inside the car while you ferret about underneath routing the cables. It's MUCH easier if you attach a piece of string to the old cable inside the car and then use it to draw the new cable back i...

probably an issue with the air gap somewhere - it can cope with an increased air gap at lower speeds, but if the signal is weak-ish then at high speed it won't see the gaps in the teeth.

'tis all I can think of!

Timmo

Looks like the phase 1 is in need of a new starter - from your info should one from a '94 Xantia 2.0 8V fit OK?

Cheers

Rob It's a quick job to do with 2 people and a decent jack - should only take half an hour or so. Try to get Citroen OE cables as they're much better quality, and you really ought to replace as a pair as the other one will be distinctly different in length, and the law of sod says it'll snap on your...

I'd be tempted to take a pair of standard 16V seat frames and try fitting the leather covers so you can keep the adjustable lumbar for both front seats - bet the left/right can be sorted easily. I'm not a fan of leather, unless you've got air-con to keep you cool in summer, but at least with lumbar ...

Depends on the level of damage - a 35 quid job will almost certainly be cosmetic only, and won't deal with corrosion or missing chunks from the rim other than dressing it.

If it needs a full chemical clean etc it will go up a fair bit.

If you're anywhere near Crawley, there's a place on Manor Royal called Wicked Wheels - they charge £55+VAT per wheel, so not cheap.

There may be somewhere nearer to you as they're a chain

I'll 2nd the comment on Forte stuff - Witmun Engineering use this stuff, and our oil consuming Passat got a dose of fuel treatment, followed by an oil treatment before the last service and the 1/2 litre oil habit it had prior to the service has totally gone  Bare in mind this was on a VAG 1.8...
