BX GTi 8v auto with aircon

I know its not a 16v but I am in a position where I am going to need sell my GTi. Its in silver, is an auto and has aircon. Everything works as it should and has a comprehensive service history file. The mileage is high at 165k, but apart from a small LHM leak it's sound. Blows a bit of oil every no...

how did you get the plug covers so clean? Did you get them blasted then repainted? Also the plenum, mine (I have a 147GTA) needs a good clean in those areas and would like to do a similar thing to improve the lump. (Although those chrom,e ventricals to the Alfa's heart are lovely)

well my idea of it being un noticeable by others back fired on Sunday night when some low life smashed the drivers window, and stole the road angel that was hiding in the passenger footwell (my fault for not taking it indoors). But I will have the ignition checked when I have it serviced shortly, an...

Max power have really changed, I used to get the odd mag when it first appeared, and it was well written then with good articles and a sparse smattering of the female form dotted about. It went seriously wrong with the content for many years, and was utter rubbish, but now...well I've not read it at...

it doesn't burn oil as such, only on start up and only if been left unstarted for a few days. The 16v I overlooked because the car needs to sit outside and not attract any attention (the 8v doesn't at all) and I thought that with the bodykit on it may attract unwanted attention! Still if I manage to...

yep it is, drives fine although feels like its missing every now and again at higher speeds. I think in hindsight I agree with you, so I'll leave well alone. However it wasn't outright speed or attempting to keep with a 16v that was my aim, just to increase it a little. Maybe I should have gone for ...

8v tuning

Now I know this isn't a 16v topic but there you go. I have an 8v auto, and want to increase its pep. Its done 162k and the valves need doing as I get a bit of blue smoke on start up (although it doesn't lose or use oil). So I am thinking I need to have the head off to do the valve guides etc, so is ...

Anyone near Ely, Cambs

there's what appears to be a 16v sitting in a drive not far from me, green but can't see if its definatley a 16v though? From the front hard to tell but it does have what appears to be th 16v bodykit and rear spoiler (although I can't be a 100% sure).

done it, took about an hour or so, I couldn't see where the plug connector was until I pulled back part of the trim for the transmission. Hardest bit was replacing the steering colum trim, but its done now and more importantly it all works!

finally managed to get the spare key in, the barrel is completely u/s. New one should have been here today but I am assured will be here tommorow?
Have it safely stashed in the garage now (was 200yds up the road) so can work on it in relative comfort....

I have a spare key, but the thing just will not go into the lock more than halfway! It feals like there's something in there preventing the key from going all the way (this is how the original key broke as that wouldn't go in either). I'll plug the new barrel in, start the car, move it into the gara...
