I have cleaned one before with engine cleaner and then wahing up liquid. This gets it clean but the plastic was obviously discoloured. When the receiver reads the PM, that is when it goes from the outbox to the sent box.

For example, I have just read the message you sent me and that will now be in your sent box.

It allows you to monitor when the message has been read.
