That's absolutely true about the garages. The Citroen dealer in the village my parents live is fantastic for that matter. The owner is about 70 years old and when having a problem usualy he's the first one to dive under the hood. And the mechanic that has been working there for the shortest time com...

Yeah you're right! Well this isn't my car it belongs to a good friend and it's the one we've bought in november with the broken timing belt and 14 bent valves. As I've never before remoced and refitted a cilinderhead I'm allways worried about this particular car, but when driving she's brilliant. Sh...

Well, she's up and running again. I removed the distributorcap and found the rotor loose in it. 1 of the three screws was missing and a couple of pieces where broken off the rotor. But I refitted it anyways and she started brilliantly immediately. Now just to buy a new rotor and forget this has ever...

Well yeah, HT lead arrangement is good as it is. What happened is that the car stopped about 2 weeks ago, it was brought to the garage where they fitted a new distributorcap and TDC-sensor. it still wouldn't start. Then at the garage they discovered that the ECU connection was corroded. They cleaned...

We've tried that and it didn't help. But this evening we've bought a new ECU and that didn't help either. I've cheched the spark and that's good, it's a nice clear blue spark but it seems to be too early or at least not at the right time. What happens is that when starting the engine turns and turns...

I'm wondering if the engineers at PSA had a clue what components where fitted in what...

Oh yeah, the other two numbers (125 and 139) are indeed from a peugeot. Don't know which models, but I suspect 309gti16 and 405mi16 I've got that info from the Dutch 205GTI drivers club.

I've replaced the Black Mark1 model's starter with a newer starter of a Xantia 1.8i that one is a lot smaller than the original. And I've built a starter of a '89 19TZI on my 16V which is the same same as the original. I'd think that the smaller one could be removed without removing the manifold but...

Yeah I was thinking about the timing as well. the order must be correct as that is regulated by the distributor cap, and the car was running fine and then just suddenly stopped. There is another problem which is not so bad, but the rubber rings that seal the sparkplug holes are worn down, the holes ...

Yeah exactly, the sparktiming is completely messed up, but she was running fin and then suddenly stopped. It looks as if the ECU just got fried. He did have some water issues in winter so it's likely that it has just been under water for a couple of weeks, maybe when this car was standing still beca...

yeah I've exchanged the starter of 2 16V's in the past winter. Taking off the exhaust is a fairly easy job, and it gives you the opportunity to clean it too (if you want to offcourse) do make sure though that you've got new gaskets for the manifold, it's a set of 2 but they're very cheap (I'd guess ...

354 is for the Mk2 16v, with and without AC and in theory with or without CAT. There are 5 different wiring looms for the BX engine management that i have seen. Three have 2 row ECU's and 3 have 3 row ECU's. The wiring and ECU pairs are swapable to any engine, however I do not believe a 119 loom wi...

That would be great! If anyone has any idea about a different ECU that could be used that would be fantastic. Anyway, I'm going to completely seal mine now, I've got the sunroof which occasionaly leeks a bit, and allthoug I have the 354 model which is a bit easier to get I still wouldn't like it to ...

ah ok :D sorry m8 I was a bit too excited there! I've tried the dutch 205 driversclub as well, actually I've posted this request on several forums. Well, I'm keeping my hopes up, should I find any in the UK I'll let you know, thanks for the help offer! By the way, is there maybe a different ECU suit...
