Leather 405s had those things as standard, did the BX ever have leather? (sorry if that's a dumb question but I know nothing about bx interiors)

The linkages wear - big time! I found this tps adjustment guide on the net years ago: Remove the throttle body from the car and loosen the TPS adjustment screws Hold the throttle plate and keep it from moving. Rotate the TPS clockwise, and then counter clockwise until a click is heard. Continue rota...

connecting a multimeter to it and gradually operating it manually and watch reading (set to Ohms) to detect breaks. I did that to mine last night and as I opened the vane the ohms quickly increased to 600-700 but didn't climb any higher! Now, according the the CAPS Mi16 diagnostic demo the resistan...

I hate these problems, right bloody minefield trying to work out what's causing what etc. But what I do know is that a high idle can occur if the throttle plates are adjusted to be too open at idle. This is because the idle speed control valve is unable to close enough to compensate for a throttle b...

Hope that helps

Luke, isn't that the retracking info for the 8 valve AFM? It's hard to explain but on all Mi16 AFMs I've seen some of the screws you need to undo arent accessable.

Seeing as the worst thing about the standard cap & arm is their price, I wonder if a bracket could be fabricated so that a cheaper cap & arm could be fitted - such as the items found on the 8 valve XU engines.

PSA were a bit tight really. On the 1905cc 8 valve BX and 405 they did away with the dizzy cap system around 1990 didn't they? Replaced it with that cool distributorless motronic 3.1. ... So why the hell did they not do the same for the XU9J4!!!!!!!! grrr

iirc the 8v has less torque than the 16v! if it had the same then it would have more torque than the bhp output! i was pretty sure that the 8v had 118lbft (pug 8v gti with 130bhp!) Yeah though the 8 valve 1.9i engine in the BX and 405 Sri has something like 127lbs of torque. Over on the 205 forum w...
