Very sad news indeed, as I've already mentioned on various other sites, condolences to his family, and more, the greater Citroën community, Alan helped and touched many people over the years, and the Citroën community is a poorer place without him. Oddly it's not his advice I remember the most, but ...

You could be right Vanny, but my engine number is definetly by the mount, on the usual alloy strip with a punched number.

That said, that is where I put it given that I built the thing!
Although I'm pretty sure I removed it from the same place on the original block......

Mines down by the engine mount, it's a right arse to find it TBH, there's alot of stuff in the way, like the inlet manifold.
The engine number should of course be on the V5(C) log book..

No two valvers are exactley the same mate, but the two row ECU equipped cars are marginally faster than the three row (with knock sensor) equipped cars, and both of thise are faster than the few cat equipped cars. What cams you're running will have a big effect on where the power comes in and where ...

Thats Jon Woods car, the top dude that runs BXClub. Having seen (and done a bit of work on it, and provided a few parts!) I can say it's a nice car, structurally sound and goes just like a valver should. The clutch is a tad heavy but doesn't slip, it's got a really sweet idle and everything is as it...

You speak much sense Mike, and I've been saying the same thing for a long time.
But most of the populus are so apathetic the whimper and complain a bit, then just pay up..

Sad.

It's not relevant to us as this tax banding is being levvied only to cars built after er, some date in 2001.
Since even the very last of the BX's were M plate we'll only have to pay the usual inflationary increase on the current system.
