Re: Sold recently in the US

Nice one Rob, he has plenty of space there to keep a car just for spares, not quite as easy for us over here.

Re: Who's on the road (or could be), who is Not?

Had a run out this month, hoped for more use but the weather hasn't been very helpful.

Re: Ultrasonic cleaner

I saw it on the BX Project along with a few other posts by someone called M. I may look into one of those, very handy for stripped carbs and loads of other intricate parts.

Re: Who's on the road (or could be), who is Not?

That's good to here Vanny, so you are all set. Hopefully the weather will continue, April has been good so far, it is typically the month I can allocate time to the BX and I was looking forward to that in particular this year. You have that "Hydraurinçage" in then, need to cover a few mile...

Re: 16v bits wanted

You can touch up the lettering with a Molotow chrome pen and seal it with spray on acrylic varnish. Example below, see the pictures on the page.

What "we" always knew.

I have been browsing around different sites for BX info (with the words 16 valve or in this case 16 Soupapes). The latter brings up a lot more sites which make interesting reading. Google translate is a big help. I believe the BX was not particularly liked in the early days but everything I have fou...

Re: 16v bits wanted

Perfect, they are more for looks really because as a fog light, they are not that great. They are also quite prone to cracking if hit by a chipping. I bought some Peugeot covers that seemed to solve the issue when the car was in regular use. I have been looking for the 16v emblem on various sites bu...

Re: 16v bits wanted

Of the two, fog lights appear the easier to get and not that costly. Further down the page is the driving light as seen on 309's etc. https://www.bowerspartsonline.co.uk/lighting/spot-lights/classic-spotlights/sim-3217-rectangular-front-fog-lamplight-citroen-ax-gt-bx-cx-peugeot-205-309-405-gti Welco...

Re: Camshaft locking pins

Spoox Motorsport have them. https://spoox.co.uk/citroen/693-citroen-bx-16v-timing-pin-kit.html There are sizes and dimensions to make a set in Haynes, they are a little on the short side and can rest inside the cog alignment hole so take that into account if you have some machined. I expect the Spoo...

The ignition loom was swapped for a better condition one with some tarting, so should be like for like. Only the sensor harness was remade so shouldn't have an impact.

But you know what that means . . .
It should, it shouldn't and I do.

Re: Wont Idle when HOT

Keeping a watch on progress, I doubt it will solve the issue but as well as the other items you are checking, are all your earth connection points clean, the one under the battery, to the n/s wing and to the engine. Also the throttle position sensor, a bit of a clean up may help. If the issue appear...

Re: Who's on the road (or could be), who is Not?

Hi! Finally logged in after being away for a while. Welcome back to the forum, you have been away for a while, 5 years! Nice to see your two cars side by side, the limo style of the CX next to the more angular BX. Sounds like you have a bit to do regarding the BX but at least you seem to know what ...
