I know how you feel. Mine is sat 200 miles away waiting for me to either give up on it or soldier on for one final hurrah.

The trouble is, I know if I say goodbye to it I'll never be as happy driving any other car again...

last rites

(x-post from bx club) Sadly I think it's time to part with my 16v. Unless someone wants to tackle the work for me out of sheer love for the model! No way I could afford to pay standard garage resto rates though. Alas I don't have the time or space or money or inclination to do it myself any more. Al...

Oil dipstick and oil temperature sender unit

As above... Citroen have told me they are no longer available from them.

One option is 'spoox components' but at £55 for the pair it's somewhat steep...

So if anyone in particular has a spare oil temp sender unit wot screws into the sump, let me know :D

I have a load of official citroen service manuals and some archived web pages that the late great Alan S once sent me - let me have your email address and I can send them onto you - they may or may not help but I've not had time to sift through them for the specific answer to your question!

Exhaust

Primarily the rear box and the bendy pipe that feeds into the cross box, but if anyone's got a full stainless system available that could be useful too...

thanks

The relay mod is to give the full 12v to the solenoid, not the motor itself- he standard wiring sends the 12v feed to the solenoid via the ignition switch y'see... :)

mine's definitely down as a 'GTi 16 valve' too - even though it's a phase 2.5 (i.e. post 1991 le mans interior and knock sensor)

I had a dodgy earth from the module and it caused the same symptoms, though mine was more sporadic because occasionally it was fine - but wasn't fun when it decided to cut out at 90 in the fast lane! I spliced into the earth wire of the module and ran a wire direct to the battery - no problems since...
