tyre £40
Cables £40
2 hours labour,

all +17.5% VAT
+ MOT £40

Thats a typical garage price, you wern't ripped off.

Had you done it yourself, it would still have been £130 or so.

Still, it beats walking!

the thermo switch has three terminals. One is chassis 0V. another is Fan via the low speed resistor. another is fan directly. If you short each pin to chassis: one will do nothing, one will give low speed fan, the other will give high speed fan. If all is OK. One end of the fan will always have +12V...

At 26, I had a 1990 MK3 Cavalier SRI.

I still own this car, 16 years after I bought it.

phase 1 clear, Phase 2 have a smokey finish Correct me if I am wrong, but I read somewhere that the tint of smokeyness changed between the different lamp cluster manufacturers. Sounds likely to me. It is subtle. I dont think it matters which you have, down to personal taste. But it does look better i...

Is it in Pink?

It is in light metallic grey, Vanny. My car is in pink too.

If anyone is interested, I will happily send them plenty of pics.

( The condition of the bumper was never in question during the aborted sale.)

cheers,

They were certainly better than the original items in my car.

I never managed to stop aftermarket speakers rattling on the speaker covers in my car.

I agree the Halfords type speakers would probably have been superior otherwise.

I was referring to particular (isolated) incident, and explains why it is not in the South of England where I am. The person in question is not a member of this forum anyway. I have sold numerous BX items to many of the forum members (including yourself) and I have never had any complaints and regar...

Rear Bumper in good condition-brackets still attached.

I have this for sale after a time waster caused me to send it to Hull, 200 miles North of where I live.

Bargain at £45, or may swap for BX parts!

Proper BX front door speakers

Spotted these: Item number: 220022547274

these are the genuine Citroen up-grade front speakers, far superior to the black paper coned items, and fit straight in.

Shell "V" power now available- but is it any good

This has arrived in lieu of Costimax at my local Shell garage.
(without the fancy big nozzle they have abroad)

I will try it in the BX next time I fill up to see how it compares with the 95
I have in it at the moment.

BX parts and bumpers.

Lots of BXs in France, but I have never seen a 16V there in a few 1000 miles motoring there in the last year. The French chose diesels because the fuel used to be much cheaper than petrol, but it is not much cheaper any more. I have a good condition Phase 2 rear bumper stored near Hull if Marx-7 wou...

Just got back from the Dordogne valley in France. ( If you enjoy driving, get down there! ) Lots of BXs in daily use, saw quite a few MK1s too. Nearly all diesel powered. No 16Vs, but saw one GTI. Lots of AXs, XMs and even the odd DS. They keep their cars running for many years, but never seem to re...

Formula Shell!

Formula Shell -Remember that? Circa 1987. Shell spent huge sums promoting the stuff as superior to 4* Cost more too. Then some people reported valve problems, and the media made a big fuss and it was withdrawn hastily. Never heard what the problem really was. Only problem with Shell cost-timax is th...

You will at least need a re-gas, about £80 +VAT.

The garage near me fills them with gas, and if there is a leak, sucks the gas out again so you only have to pay for one load when it is fixed.
