The JH suffix on the number plate makes it a Maidenhead area car- possibly first registered with Citroen UK in Slough- mine was too.

looks very smart in silver- gives it a modern look, plus it will not fade to pink like my red one.

I did a back to back power test on a rolling road a couple of years ago, comparing the standard chip with a BBR Starchip and a Superchip. The BBR chip gave the best power + torque, the superchip only gave a little more power by extending the rev limiter upwards. Fine on the drag strip, but not reall...

I would change the oil and filter before trying to start it. The oil was probably old before the car was stored. Plus turn it over on the starter for 30 seconds or so with the coil disconnected so the oil gets a chance to circulate before the motor is fired up. Cars deteriorate surprisingly quickly ...

Hi Simran,

Could it be a complete failure of your accumulator sphere?

Hi all,

My BX is still running and is in use most days.

I have not had anything break on it for a long time, which is nice.

But on very cold days the parcel shelf falls into the boot, which is annoying.

On this one I suggest you simply buy a new pump.
It is not worth the hassle messing with unknown pumps.

As the pump is the heart of the hydraulics system, just pay the money and you get a decent car.

I did , and it was worth it.

I had intermittant assistance on the power steering, but it was OK after the car had warmed up.

It was the hydraulic pump. A new one cured the problem instantly.

I suggest you do not put rad sealer in any car.

If you have a coolent leak, it needs fixing properly.

Any goop will collect with crud in the cooling system, and may well reduce the flow rate around the head resulting in a terminal overheating problem.

A coolent leak is far easier to fix.

Handy tip to fit the clip- use a pair of pincers like you use to pull small
nails out of planks to close the clip nicely.

I expect your fans are working just fine if you are holding a steady 90 degress. The fans are quite quiet at low speed, you may simply have not heard then from in the cabin. I would be very surprised if they never came on at all-these engines do heat up very quickly. In warm weather my fans are usua...

Surprisingly enough, the wiring is fine for 2 fans.

This is strange considering the headlamp wiring is not adequate for two headlamps!

2 fans on full speed will probably never happen anyway, as two low speed fans are very effective.
