Hi Timmo, Thanks for reply, thought you would have an idea about them. I know what you mean about the pressure washer. Only thing is, I cannot always be bothered to get the washer out. Keep it in the shed. By the time I have accessed it and set it up I will have lost the will to start. So, thought w...

Timmo,

For the layman, would you say the superspray would do something similar to this if filled with your regular car wash. Now that winter is approaching I was thinking about getting one.

Vehicle history

A short while ago I found a site (think it was on the RAC pages) which gave basic details about a vehicle when entering only the reg no. How many previous owners etc.

It was free, I cannot locate it now. Anyone have knowledge of a site which does this for free? (not HPI check or etc)

Seriously and no offence meant at all but I think you could end up with a pile of bits before long. We know how fast the engines are but trying to get that bit more out of them often results in failure. We see it enough on various forums including this one. Take it easy.

Well depends how much effort u have to put in to make it swivel I guess! Mine was loose once and I just crimped the HT lead connector tighter. Do not think I worded the question too well. I am talking about the part on the coil itself, the bit you see when the ht lead is disconnected. It is that wh...

Faulty coil

I have just been checking over a few things today and found the part of the coil where the plug fits on swivels round and round (the brass bit, cannot think of the name). This would not seem normal, could someone possibly check theirs. It may be the reason for the problem I had with starting. I now ...

Thanks both of you. I thought that would be the case but just wondered if there would be any issue I was unaware of. :)

Getting the rear wheels off without engine power

Never been in this position but know someone who is. If there is no engine in the car and the rear wheels are up tight in what would be their "low" postion, what would be the best way to get them off. I imagine there will be no pressure in the system. Would it be easy to raise the rear of ...

Martyn,

You are comparing unleaded fuels. I am talking about the real leaded stuff and only certain garages supply it (supplied by Bayford). It is imported from finland. Hence it is dearer, a lot dearer now.

Getting more expensive to run now!

Went out yesterday to get 3 gallons or so for the BX armed with £15. Well I ended up with a measly 2 or so, the reason, 4* now costing £1.69 per litre. I really could not believe my eyes when I pulled out the dispenser and the price came up. At first I put it back to give me time to question what I ...

Had not seen this but I think we can safely say it puts "paid" to number 11 in this post (and that is not to say you live in a dodgy area Timmo). Can be anywhere. Glad you have sourced one.

Hi,

I, may be interested in the rear subframe, arms discs calipers etc all in tact. Has the frame ever had new bearings fitted.

It could come in very handy

How much? :? Vw also use a similar M7 Breaking throgh the bottom of the nipple is common, make sure you've not gone to far into the alloy! as for nipples most calipers in std form use a fine M7 thread, so I just tap them out to M8 and use common ones from factors and coat them librally in copper gr...
