You will benefit from speaking to the CCC as well as I know they run a BX register.
Vanny will be back soon and like I said have a chat with him as he has a lot of the work already done.

All I can say is that Matthew assured me he would keep the old forum up as a searchable database indefinitely.

I have pm'd and emailed him several times but am still awaiting a response but I do know he is extremely busy at the moment.

Blimey that's cheap Luke  Wasn't someone on here going to fit a supercharger, was it Keith Adams? Even if you 'only' had a 60BHP increase, that's a hell of an increase per pound. Dan We did look into it Dan. A good mod is to use 8v pistons to lower the CR and mini chargers are quite cheap no...

turbo

Tim - the common route is via a supercharger such as one from the new cooper, ideally you would need an emerald management to control everything so I reckon just under a grand would see you with a decent reliable supercharged mi powered BX should run at about 220-250 BHP quite happily.

looms

cossie The wear indicator is a plug in loom one on each side they run from the actual pads through the inner arch/wing and then plug into the main loom. You can still buy these plug in looms although theh abs ones are different to the std ones. I have a couple of new drivers side ones here that I ca...

starter

A diesel starter is a good mod we used to fit them to the tuned pintos and they lasted forever. I also know a few people with mis who run the std GTi starters with no issues though. Changing is not to abd if you get the car up on a lift, remove the oil filter and you should be able to do it all from ...

register

Nice idea Kitch but you will find that people are already en route to a bx16v register. Vanny has been working with the citsport guys who built a massive register over several years and with the aid of this forum we are updating all the records and once it is all finished Vanny will have a pretty ac...

Glad you made it Alan 8)

Seems we have the same trouble as the BX Club with these forums constantly logging people off :(

Rootes

Aye, I remember the Tiger. Nice looking cars in their day (always had a soft spot for Rootes cars) and pretty quick too. A lad I worked with a few years ago had a Sunbeam Ti, Christ that thing was quick. He reckoned it weighed less than a bag of crisps and had a cracking engine even as standard, th...

fuel

AFAIK the main advantage of the knock sensor without cat is that this allows the ecu to advance ign timing as far as possible for each grade of fuel - obviously once "knocking" or "pinking" occurs the ecu backs off a touch but this give max power for that fuel. I do however belei...
