I too had this problem at high revs but my water level was low,
due to a leaky water reservoir,cleaning the sensor probe, bleeding, after changing it so far the problem has not
reoccured.

Yr water level is not correct mate, I had this problem once

Judging from the pic and year given it is a phase 1 and should be a non-cat 2 row ECU but maybe somewhere along the line someone changed some bits here and there and ended up with a 3 row ECU. The ECU no given is from the CAT'd versions of Cits and Pugs which have 3 row and use a air flow meter Bosc...

Welcome Matt, you sure thats a BX14 looks like a 16V.

The car looks great , why don't just plonk in the engine
from a 16V instead of selling it.

Since the 16V has the same disc as the Xantia just change the
calipers , they really stop well. , I use ori 14in and they just clear
the calipers by an mm or two.

Thats a whole lot of Cits on top of each other.

Wheres this place looks like all the cars have french plates,

I had the same problem and it was the starter which was the ori one from new but do clean the battery heads first that's the easiest to do. To change it without manifold removal is almost impossible. Mine has A/Cond and more hoses running about. I even broke the oil filler connecting rubber hose (ha...
