I havent ever checked the rear window switches, but if I recall correctly the central locking is positive earth or something daft - I had fun getting a Sparktronic alarm fitted to my second BX many years ago because the central locking worked back to front compared to sane cars. Best bet is to check...

I think Track & Race Car have a website somewhere.

Practical Performance Car is much better IMHO, having Dave (CCC) Walker and Dave Vizard writing tech articles makes it a hard act to follow

Re: Citroen BX Christmas Quiz

1 ) The rise in the stock of your local parts supplier whenever you buy a Citroen 2) Likely to Explode 3) There was a lorry drivers strike and stock of the long ones ran out, so they fitted two short ones together until new stock arrived. 4) To create a smoother drive system for the dumb waiter from...

Funny what everyones saying about the Michelin Pilot Exalto's in the wet - when I swapped the part-worn Toyo Proxies for new Exaltos on the front, their first kiss of tarmac was home from the Costco car park in the driving rain. Within about 10 minutes I was sure they were a quantum leap up from the...

I like the way the strips over the rear quarter and back door make the car appear to be a 3 door :D Mike P. Looks like they've taken the rear door glass & quarterlight out and replaced them with one sheet of polycarbonate - I was thinking of blacking out the rear/quarter divider strip on mine t...

On standard 195/60x14's, I've had Toyo F3000's which were fantastic, and Yoko A510's which were slightly better in the wet but wore faster. The Hornet runs 205/50x15s which first wore Woosung DarkHorse at 45psi (Slipperier than a teflon coated politician in a cash for honours scandal), quickly upgra...

I had a 1kg powder one in the boot of the hornet. I finally took it out after setting it off whilst wrestling a house radiator into the boot. According to the ex-firemen who did my company fire-marshal course, the powder ones are usually bicarbonate of soda, and if you breath the dust it tends to ma...

SS exhausts

Out shopping the other day and I spied a new LED windscreen washer jet and 19" wheel dealers, who also claimed to do custom made stainless steel exhausts, so I dropped in. Wending my way past the Vauxhall Novas I asked the pair of baseball capped yoofs for a guesstimate for a 2 box system on a ...

The hydractive valves also has the function to block LHM flow between left and right to prevent roll, most BX racers do this modification. How easy / expensive is this to do? I'm wondering how well it would work on a road car. I've noticed both you and Gary run Phase1 front bumpers. Is there an aer...

I got some Megaleads off EBay for £25 inc P&P. Cheaper than stock parts from GSF at the time!
They're fatter than the old stock leads I had but still fit. Coupled to a replacement rotor arm and dizzy cap (one that actually had contacts!) the old girl is now going like a rocket :)

Re: Your choice list....

What car do you drive?: Citroen BX16v, 1989, Seat Leon TDi 110, 2001. Whats the best car you've ever owned?: I think, for pure fun/greif ratio, it has to be my old 1985 Cavalier 1.6GLS. It was great fun, comforable, speedy and never gave me much hassle mechanically. All my BXs have, at one point or...

The long pointy pin in 8 looks like one of the pins used to secure the brake pads.

Make sure he knows how to turn the headlights on too.

When I bought my first 16v (1991 ph2) I spent two minutes at the traffic lights flashing and honking the horn at the bloke in front because I could see the light symbol on the stalk, but didnt realise you were supposed to twist it.
