I changed the ECU, idle control valve and airflow meter from ones from my dads car and it is still losing power now and then. Its an intermittent thing, sometimes the power will kick back in mid acceleration and the car will move quicker, other times it will go fast, others just average. What else s...

My friend from croydon was back home over the weekend and said he spotted a Black 16v outside his nans, assuming thats in croydon too, was it you? He said it wasnt as clean as mine... :lol: whos not washed their car in a while?

The fans DO stay on after the ignition is turned off dont they? thats how i noticed they were always on as after id turned the engine off, and got out i could hear the fan on. Mine already has two fans and im pretty sure they cut in earlier than theyre supposed to so for now i just use the emergency radiator, the interior heater, does a really good job of dropping the temp. Seems its running at the right temperature then, just scared that it getting too hot is causing the lack of power, im sure the two are not related in this instance. I know warmer air will cause a drop in power, but it just seems a bit asthmatic now and then, yet sometimes its great :roll:

No matter how long the drive, when i stop, the car always has the fan on and the temperature seems to get quite high in traffic very quickly, what is normal running temp supposed to be around? its just below 90 on the bottom dial (thats the water temp, right?) under the bonnet seems to be very very ...

do these not have a fitting that only fits vw, only ones we do at halfords are bosch ones andwill only fit vw, they have a 90degree turn fitting,you slip it on, turn 90degrees and jobs done!
