your going to be a little stumped here. It sounds like the drive has lost its allocation table (best case scenario) or the memory has packed up (which could have caused the above!). If you have the originals and some gasket material you could just make up your own!

the thin hard plactic ring needs to be remove from the inside (it goes round the flaps that hold the cap into the flap), then push the cap out from the flap.
