£1500? Wow. Congratulations I guess, I'm sure at that sort of money it wont be going to an organlegger.

Well, many many years ago , a erm, man I met in a pub somewhere, once did from the A13 in Essex round the lower M25 to Gatwick at 6am on a Sunday morning and only dropped below 100 when going through the Dartford Tunnel, and demonstrated that in a phase 2 BX16v at 6800rpm the speedo needle reads clo...

We use MSN at work which displays the tracks currently playing on your PC, and this has the knock on effect of being a bit careful what you're listening to in the office. I mean, last week one of the guys got caught listening to S Club Seven ... Favourite tunes at the moment are : She Gave Good Sunf...

Turbo rebuilders?

Anyone know a good place in Essex / South East to get a Garrett turbo rebuilt? The one on my Seat TDi appears to have died (no power, grinding noises, clouds of smoke). I might be able to source one from a breakers for £150, otherwise I've been quoted circa £450 for a rebuild or £600 for a new one. ...

Damn GSF!

I managed to put a hole in the sump of my Leon TDi last week, and as it uses a VW engine GSF was my first port of call for a replacement. First one I got had a hairline crack that didnt show up until if had been fitted and filled with oil (looks like a casting defect to me), second one is crack free...

A cow from the farm "broke into" said barn, had a crap on the front of my mates CX GTi Turbo and then discovered it couldn't turn round to leave, so it kicked it's way out through my car. And I thought this sort of thing only happened in the movies. I'd love to see the insurance c...

According to my homemade gofastulator, if your chip & exhaust has given you another say 15bhp at the flywheel, you're looking at just on 144mph top end. If you took off the wing mirrors, rear spoiler and dropped the car a couple of inches over standard, you might make 147! The fun of course is g...

Not a chase, but unless I'm mistaken, this is a vid of a turbocharged BX, based off an 8v GTi.

I've got 205/50x15's on mine, although under hard cornering with some overly soft rear spheres, I got the rears down to 200/50x15......

There's a handy tyre size calculator here

I saw that the other day. I wonder what the appeal is of vintage tax discs? If you're looking for a period disc for a show car or tv work, it's probably easier to knock one up on an inkjet printer.

Hmmm....

Nah, they have computer databases these days, I'd never get away with it.

Nice system there Mike! The rear box looks about the same size as standard, personally I'd be trying to squeeze as big a box as I could in there without melting the spare tyre. Having taken a look underneath yesterday the rot isnt as bad as I thought and she can probably scrape an MOT with another h...

To raise this thread from the dead.... The makeshift repairs to the zorst on the hornet have given out (should have used genuine Heinz baked bean tins and not the cheaper Tesco own brand...) , and due to family circumstances I've loaned my Seat to the folks and would like to put the hornet back on t...

I think they look alright, but I prefer a more aggressive style myself.

And judging from the second pic, I'd say your rear-arm bearings need doing

The Multi-Model PSA Swap Shop?

I think this idea has been proposed before, (possibly even by me!), but most of us have found certain parts or accessories from other PSA models (or other marques entirely) will fit the BX16v very nicely and may actually be better than the original. Does anyone besides me think there's any use to be...
