16V on Leboncoin France - Check out the mileage

Post by Mike P »

If the mileage is genuine :o :!:

http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/196928931.htm?ca=6_s

Notice as well what you can see through the back window

Google translation of the advert is:

Vehicles stuck in a dry indoor garage and the shelter of the light (does not everyone was started) since 1990.
To pick up on the CT is not done because there should be a return to service complete.Le vehicle was in perfect working condition before his arrest.
The model year is 1988 or 1989 (I have not the gray card on me now)
The price may be reviewed, make an offer.

Looks sweet, if its been in storage since 1990 you would expect it to be near to rust/rot free.
As for the motor, it would depend on if it was properly prepared for its lay up :?
And the price of 4500€, at TODAYS exchange rate 4,010.33 GBP so not an unreasonable asking price, if I was looking for a 16v I'd expect to pay that for a good one like this, if it is that good.
In my opinion the price is to cheap, for a car with this many KM's. The Morrette headlights and Cibie Oscar's on the front lead me to think this has seen some rally stages or some sprited road driving in its very early years!
Maybe I'm thinking to deeply about it  but I think if you bought this you would have to pay out alot more on getting it up to scratch........BUT then you would have a Bx16v with aboult 6000 miles :D.
I dont think its a museum piece, however for a collecter or a serious 16v enthusiast its a good start for a concourse show car.

Car price is ~£4000

Getting it home, inc' trailer, ferry crossing etc is probably £500

Assuming that you don't need to do any major bodywork or engine work, I would budget £1000 for recommissioning it.

All in then, about £5500 minimum.

Would be nice to have though, if this was in this country and a RHD UK car, I'd be all over it like a rash*

*and probably divorced by SWMBO
