Well done, this is Rob's old car.

Are you using it for spares or putting it back on the road :?:

May sound silly but I only bought it for the rear bumper trim, I've been looking for one for 18 months and gave up and bought a whole car. I have a forthcoming magazine article to do with my car and this peice of trim is stopping the show, I've had many attempts on an alternative and nothing seems to look right, hence the drastic measure.

The white J plate requires a full engine rebuild as he's drove the spaced head bold through the block (forgetting the spacer) wrecking the engine block, overall the rest of the car is in expected condition. It needs about £800 spending on it IMO, and that with values as they are isn't finacially viable. Therfore in all likleyhood I may swap a handfull of parts which are better than the ones on H552 HVS and sell it on, or keep it as a spares car. I hate this situation but I stongly believe (and this is not necessarily with the 16v blokes here) but the whole BXC internet Forum community drives the market value down on BX's, they all expect to pay a fiver or have parts given for free which in turn de-values the cars.

You would think that for 80's hot hatch with staggering performance for its day which was only produced 3544 examples of and less than 100 exsist in this country today that values would be much higher?

I totally agree Ian that values should be higher for the 16v, I would love to own another in the not too distant future myself again.

Fair play, at least it will finsih your other one off.

Would be good if you could sell it on as a viable project for somebody else. You have hit the nail on the head with values, supply is low but demand is even lower. I fear that Bx 16V values will never go the way of other 80's performance cars.
