Further to the electric mirrors debate...

Post by djoptix »

...I now have two electric mirrors. Score! But once I've fitted them, I don't have the blanking plate where the driver's side adjuster handle goes. Does anyone have one of these? Sure a passenger one would do...

Almost :D I have a donor car up there, or at least the best part of one! Bumpers, doors, rads, tyres, hubs, struts, i could build best part of another BX (even have a rear seat to turn into a sofa)!

Got to imagine the size of the garage, its not your usual single door garage, we recon you could easy get 4 BX's in down stairs and theres enough room to get another 2 whole bx's in upstairs :D Dont think the rents would go for that though!

Does anyone know why the drivers' side has a three-wire connection like the passenger one, and then another two wire block? Surely it doesn't have (gasp!) a heater?

My 16v has twin heated mirrors. Thought they all did?

Well all the models with twin electric mirrors, as I found out courtesy of Luke that its only sometime in 1990 that they got the pair rather than just passenger side.

mirrors

Post by Toddman »

Yeah that was shortly after FCS in 2003 when Bob asked me why I had a manual drivers mirror so when I was at my ex citroen dealer now independant specialist I asked him why and his answer was "because it was made like that, they only started fitting both sides in the changeover years"

He has a P1 16v and is great on BXs as he grew up with them

Cheers

Well, mine is going to have one heated and one not! Unless my current passenger one is heated and I can sort out why it doesn't adjust up/down.

How does the heating in them work? Is it on all the time?

To quote Blackadder, that is so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.
