4x4 subframe mounts.

Post by citro-geoff »

I have just had a look at the Citroen parts website and they are different. The front ones are the same on standard and 4x4,but the part number the standard rear is 514990,for the 4x4 rears is 96063392 and it states at the side of it NFP(no longer available)If you put this number on the BX forum maybe someone has a couple lying around. You never know!! Try your local cit dealer with the number or a good motor factors.I can still get parts for my CX from mine which were dropped by the dealers years ago.

Yeah I've been thinking about that actually myself. There's no rush really, the car is stored out of the rain and it's not insured anyway now. My money gets spent on my sportsbike.. I didn't realise that although they're cheap on fuel and insurance.. tyres etc go through in a matter of months and cost a fortune.
I'm not willing to do a half-arsed job on the citroen so I'm waiting until I can afford to make it right. It probably won't end up being 4x4 in the end but subframe mounts for the rear mean I don't have to change the piping and source a Fwd subframe. It's a shame because I love it being 4x4 but I can't afford to live with the timebomb that is the transfer box. Plus I'll probably need some kind of funding and i'm hoping those bits will offer that.

a 16v track car was the aim but unless a payrise of about 30% comes :), it'll be a 16valve road car I think.

If you remove the rear 4 X 4 subframe and fit the 2WD
subframe, will it fit? then just get a donor BX and convert it.

Do you still have the Honda VF750F, I have one too. Mine 1985
but not used for a few years now.

Well the VF was borrowed off my Dad and while it's still around and still fires up first time, there's a clattery sound from the rear bank and a flickering oil light. I'm not sure if it finally met the usual VF fate. Got a spare engine for it though so all could be well yet.

I had thought about just getting a FWD car and taking the subframe actually.. it's stopped at the moment due to lack of funds. Using the kwak to get around on.
