silly money paid for front spoiler tow hook cover

Post by pete crane »

Hi everyone, I am gutted to have lost a second white front tow bar cover whilst using my car for work in the recent heavy rain/floods. I will glue and screw the next one in to make sure this can't happen again. Has anyone got a white cover for my 1990 16v phase 2 ( low boot spoiler type ). Please please contact me if you have one I can buy 01772 813227. Cheers Pete.

Thats quite hard to get :( you can make a copy with polyester though! but then you still need to borrow one from somebody.
I know this guy in Belgium who has a 2 story garage filled with everything ever to be found for a bx, multiple digit dashboards, rims, interiors, headlights(normal and morette) and so on...... and so on.......
He might have one, I'll contact him for you!

Hi Mechuccio, if you could follow that up I would be most grateful, maybe buy you a beer sometime or send you some money to cover your phone bill. I am really stressed by that black hole looking back at me when the car is parked - I usually just love looking at this most interesting car. Cheers and good luck, pete.

Hey Pete,

I've contacted him already, unfortunately he didn't have one, but he's going to produce copies and I'm going to provide him with the original, I guess that within 2 months the first copy should be reality. So I'll keep you posted!

Hello Mechuccio, that sounds like a great plan and I would like to be first in the queue to buy one from your friend. I understand the need to pay him for his time and materials. Thanks again, I will await the call. Merry xmas and happy new year to you. Cheers Pete

We'll do! happy hollidays to you and everybody else too :D
I don't know what the costs for a copy will be (can't imagine that it'll be thát much) but anyways, this Belgium guy wants to start up a citroën service company, specialised in BX, and ofcourse you'll need to be able to reproduce some parts which are easaly lost (still waiting till my cap drops out ) But first I need to drive over there, since I need some parts anyway that'll be soon. When its done, sending it by mail is an option, but I'm going to visit some relatives of my girlfriend too, whatever comes first.... perhaps I can just drop it of at your house :D

Hi Mechuccio, sounds like a good plan - you are always very welcome to call in if you are passing. I run a pubmeet for petrolheads on the last Wednesday night of every month so that would be a good time to be here. I run a Lotus Cortina and a VX220 (and my wife a Smart) as well as the Citroen - we have all sorts of old and new cars joining in, but I don't often get to tal Citroen so your company would be most welcome. Cheers Pete.

Pete, is this part exclusive to the 16V or is a TZD likely to have one too?
