C6

Post by RobC »

saw my FIRST C6 the other day. cycling through the merry streets of hackney. i darn near fell off my bike!

i thought to myself 'that's a funny looking C4 coming my way... hang on a minute, this baby's big...' if i hadn't been in a rush to get somewhere, i may well have about turned and followed the geezer to the next lights.

a beautiful machine it is!

how many of you have seen one in everyday life (NOT including press events / ppl like keitha getting to bring them to club stands etc).

just curious...

seen a number at press events, but have seen quite a few on the M6 and followed a french plated one with cream leather interior for a good 50 miles on the south motorways of the UK on my way back from france, pretty much from the ferry up till i got bored!

One overtook me while driving through France... saw another on the motorway in the UK recently. I can honestly say they look good in the photos, but they look ten times better in the flesh! :D

Only seen one on the road, iirc that was over near Brighton. The main dealer where my mate works do not evan stock them so i guess they are few and far between.

well i've watched a C6 diesel and C6 petrol race around lemans, three laps, nothing in it, like less than a second! Also in the same race was one of the xsara WRC cars which really couldn't get away from the C6's (was having serious technical problems), the stupidly qucik SM racer, and what to me is the most impressive car i have ever seen . . . the ZX rallye raid, that thing is stupidly fast and can power slide like you wouldn't believe!

pics of the cars all together on track;

hahah! no i dont mind them at all, just the other day grother and i were comparing specs etc on the latest pugs, the 2.7l twin turbo deisel vs the petrol 3l v6! both about the same price, both return the same mpg, both pretyt much the same speed! so in my eye's it made no sence to opt for hte deisel!
Dont get me wrong, i have driven Hundreds of deisels in my time adn they have their merits above normal petrol models, but i just cant see a performance deisel taking my vote except for the Skoda fabia vrs!

they have come such a long way in a short period of time as such, you have to wonder if they are going to go any further!?!?
if i was after a 70mph mile muncher then it would undoubtably be a deisel! but for me something as nice looking as the C6 a deisel no matter how big just isnt goign to do it for me! needs the v6 growl!

My first C6 spotted over the bank holiday :D

Quite a unique looking car at the back door / rear quarter glass interface but I did like the double chrome downswept tailpipe, so must have been a diesel?

Actually went past it in my mates Cx Turbo and both of us commented on how the C6 shape reminded us of the Cx bodyline profile from the side. The C6 driver certainly did, gave us a wave on the way past :D

I've seen a couple, one on the M6 near Blackpool and one just a few hundred yards from my house in Rusholme - probably some student's rich parents!

They look like lovely cars to me. Nicely understated too, not too flashy.
