Me and a mate have just had our Frogeye Sprite done. It went in a bare shell, with rustproofing, silicone, rust, bare metal and quite a few dings on it, plus a rotten out inner rear arch.
Job came to £3500 for the full works. Fully undersealed, smoothed, filled, primed and painted etc plus all the welding work. The company who did it does lots of american customs and airbrushing etc so we knew the paint should look good.
It does, its so smooth and shiney it looks wet! :D

That's a good price Kitch.
We have a very well established MG specialist not too far away who has recently restored my uncles Wolseley 16/60 only a 1970 model but his pride an djoy.
Anyhow I was so impressed with the quality of work,i.e. je jad some part timer start the welding and thse MG guys removed it all because it was plated and thet did it properly by grafting in the new metal, they refused to work on it unless everything was upto their standard.

My brothers father inlaw Mick a very usefull mechanic has a few project son the go with a mate of his currently an E type and they have just bought an Elan but it is a bit special but they have sent the E type shell in for a new skin or two and a proper respray/dent removal to bring it back to original quality or better.
Mick stripped everything so all they had to do was removed the bonded windscreen and then do the body.

I will try and get som epics when the shell returns soon but the cost AFAIK is approx £7k

The Wolseley project however cost £10k but the car was laid up in 1988 and the MG guys collected it about 2 years ago and when my uncle got it back it boasted a properly rebuilt and unleaded converted engine, one piston had seized in the block and no amount of persuasion could move it so a full rebore and new set of pistons etc,everything that you would expect to be done was new, brakes etc rechromed, new rubbers everywhere window felts new roof lining repairs to the leather etc etc so a thorough job.
