Another 16v MOT failure

Post by Jezziebx16v »

.
Took mine in for an MOT today, not due till next month but gives me time to sort it.
Only failed on a ball joint, steering rack gaitor and no water in the washer bottle  , they didn't pick up on the radius arm bearing that needs doing.
Had a few advisories aswell; oil leak and corroded fuel pipe but I'll have them done next week with the cambelt and arm bearing and the leak is the trusty rocker cover gasket. Get this little lot sorted and she'll be good for another year :D .
Today was the first time in 6 weeks I'd driven her due to my broken arm but it was nice to be behind the wheel again 8).

As a small token of luck yes they are on the same side ! Forgot to mention the starter motor packed up on the MOT ramp aswell, they had to hotwire it from the battery

Oh well, could be worse.

Chances are that its the wiring to the motor thats causing you the issue matey! i put a relay in my circuit which cured it for a while but ended up putting int he starter button as the wiring is a bit past it!

just been out and done one of the leg return pipes as my mech said its in two peices lol! but odd the mot man didnt spot it!

Small update

The starter has turned out to be a loose wire and the armbearing that needed doing seems to be "just" a sheered ARB bolt , not sure how that happened.
Should have it back tommorrow 8) I can see the red mist already.
