Smoked rear lights

Post by exvalver »

I am aware there are different shades. Grey, green and red. Am I right?

My question is what tint should I get for the white 16v I have taken on? My guess is grey - or possibly red.

I prefer the dark grey tints.

You can see the difference they make if you compare mine and Adrian E's in this topic:

Mine's a Phase two, and currently has Ph.1 style (pre facelift) rear lights that go with the tailblazer. But I want to return the car to fairly original condition, so I'll be removing the tailblazer and fitting the later tinted lights.

My question really is; would the out-of-the-factory tints have been grey? I imagine that's the case.

Even so, to be honest, like you I prefer the grey...

Green tints worked on the Triton Phase 2 that I had.

Red tints shouldn't be seen on any

The standard light patterns are very 80's in their styling IMO.

The dark tint is subtle :D

By the way: If you are taking it off, do you want to sell me the tailblazer :?:

Just looked at the pictures of the car and it looks like the tailblazer is damaged on the top edge :?:

The tail blazer is indeed damaged (there's a bit broken off) but in otherwise good condition. The good news is I found the broken portion in the boot and it's a simple - and what should be fairly invisible - repair.

Tim Leech has first dibs on it, but if he decides against it I will be offering it up on the forums I frequent.... :D

Assuming it comes off in one piece!

My pink BX has red tints, I think it rather suits the car!

So rare I haven't seen any! Must look great on a blue car - especially Olympic Blue.

Liz wanted the Tailblazer for the BX GTi, but I said NO. ;)

Re: Lights... Swap for the Tailblazer, Tim? (I don't have a good pair of these tinted lights... actually the ones on my GTi aren't a particularly happy match either...)

No particular worries, Tim. It's just that if I do get another BX, they usually have mismatched or damaged rear lights in my experience! No rush. And if you want to sell them to a more needy cause then fine.

I will have a bash (not literally) at the Tailblazer later this week.
