I almost faultered today....

Post by Mike P »

and rang up 2 mates and asked if they wanted to buy my white 16V as they had first refusal on the car.

Both said no, phew :D They knew I would want top money for the car and so it will be staying with me over the winter I guess.

I just need to find some motivation, time and money to get on with it and do what I want to do to the car whilst it is off the road till late spring next year.

I know how you feel. Mine is sat 200 miles away waiting for me to either give up on it or soldier on for one final hurrah.

The trouble is, I know if I say goodbye to it I'll never be as happy driving any other car again...

That's exactly how I feel about mine.

Still love the car and so much more fun to drive than a modern car, but then I've hardly used it a lot this year.

If somebody offered me what I wanted for the car, it would be sold.

But then every time I go into the garage to get the DIY tools, I look at the car smile and think that I'd never find another Phase 1 like it again :D

Exactly why mine shall remain in the garage costing me £500 a year in rent til i get the damn thing done! I'll either finally get to drive it again some day or i'll have it as my coffin (perhaps i'll get to combine the two?) but i'll NEVER sell it!
Now listen here you mullet...

I'm working towards the ICCCR in Yorkshire next year (August time i think), it helps that i've been to an international rally before, but it gives me plenty of determination and focus to be there.

Perhaps i'll see you boys there too?
