Club member selling up

It is with some regret that I must post this message.
I have had a chat with a good friend and he has asked me to post the following -

Rob Hughes is having to let his red P2 go, the reason is simply that he does not have the space for 2 weekend cars.
He has his daily driver and recently took on a wrc replica Xsara vts and something has to go to make room for it.

Robin will post up when he has time and has fully catalogued what he has but his aim is to let everything go in one lump to an enthusiast.

Isn't Rob on here anymore then Luke?

Shame, he's one of the long-timers (from original .com forum). Just me, you, Mike E, Timmo and Vanny left now I think?

Plus all those I've forgotten who are about to get upset

Hi All,

thanks for the heads up luke,

yes indeed I am selling the red phase2 bx 16v.

It is with great sadness that I am typing this as I never thought id see the day I parted with the red bx 16v that I have owned for the last 15 years. The reason for parting with it is because ive just bought one of only two citroen xsara vts citunning built wrc rs 2 replica signed by Sebastian loeb and commissioned by citroen uk them selves and as soon as I saw it I had to have it which sadly means the bx 16v has to go as I cannot keep both.

Some will know that my long term plan was to restore the car with as many new parts as I could and I was going to send the car to rob moss at chevronics to have it built and painted.

The car its self is venetion red but sadly due to age the paint has faded and could probably be bought up with a professional mop in areas it will nedd repainting due to storage as its been sat in a dry grarage since 2009 so never seen a drop of rain since 2009. I took it off the road because it started showing signs of corrosion in the usual places bxs go and rather than do a bodge repair I decided I would wait and save up the money to have it done properly. The areas it has suffered corrosion in are as follows.....

small hole in drivers side bulkhead under washer bottle
passenger side inner wing
both sills on either side need welding but I was going to replace the complete sills ( the body kit is already removed for access to the sills ) inner sills are fine.
drivers side rear door shut has gone and will need doing but passenger door shut is fine.
small hole in rear chassis leg on drivers side that will need plating.
boot floor area around the exhaust hanger will need attention.
small hole that will need plating from the inner rear wing into the boot drivers side (where the wheel brace lives)
there is a little bit of corrosion around the rear passenger side subframe mount that will need looking at.
fuel filler neck (metal ring) has corroded but I have a new one and fixing kit for it.
drivers side rear wheel arch out rigger will need replacing as it fell off and the tank strap is missing too for the auxhillary fuel tank.
Small hole in the rear bumper bar that the rear bumper fixes too otherwise all ok
small hole at the front of the sill into the wheel arch (drivers side) the inner arch liner usualy hides this

The rest of the car is sound and I have had a good poke and prod to make sure and like I said since I took it off the road I have had it dry stored so it has not been allowed to deteriate further.

Good points are around the windscreen is mint (no rust)
both drivers and passengers side a pillars and top door hinges are mint as I had them greased up so no water could ever get behind the hinges.
both drivers side and passengers side b pillars are mint ( no rust )
the front end of the car (behind the front bumper) is mint and undersealed
roof is fine (no rot)
sunroof area is fine (no rot)
floor pans and everything are all good
front and rear sub frames are mint with no rust
rear arm bearings were done not long ago ( although a new rear abs sensor will be needed (drivers side) as it was seized in and broke when we removed the arm
cambelt was done just over a year ago (while car has been off road) and has new genuine citroen tensioners fitted ( £100 right there)
complete bottom end rebuilt 20,000 miles ago by the citroen car clinic in sandbatch Cheshire ( I have the recipt)
new clutch 20,000 miles ago ( I have the receipt )
new pressure reg fitted
new powersteering pinion valve fitted
new radiator and fan switch fitted 20,000 miles ago ( I have the receipt)
morrette twin headlamps fitted ( at least £150 worth )
new exhaust center section, cross section, link pipe and stainless scorpion back box fitted
has the original central locking plip and receiver and still works
interior is mint ( the best I have ever seen on a bx in a long time ) ( I am a non smoker )
roof lining is mint
carpets are mint
dash is mint and glove box hinges are intact and not broken
all plastic trim is good
the car carries the numberplate c16vbx ( £400 odd quid and I have the receipt for it )
Has had various new parts when needed and I have a full folder of service history and receipts for this car since ive owned it and no expense has been spared.
Has scorpion immobiliser fitted for insurance purposes.

I have 2 sets of keys, the plip, all the handbooks, original blaupunkt radio and a folder full of service history for this car.

I also have.....

a phase 2 modified front bumper in venetian red
2 phase 2 front wings in venetion red
a rear door for a phase 2 in venetion red
2 3 row bosh ecus for a 16v
2 abs ecus
2 pink service folders
2 brown Haynes mannuals
1 blue Haynes manual
1 pocket manual
hydraulic pipe flaring tool with a small role of copper pipe
sphere removal tool
a jar full of relays
some sets of phase 2 bx 16valve badges
bulbs and various other bits
2 0r 3 original bosh ign amps for a phase 2 16v
2 used ign coils
1 rear light cluster ( phase 2 )

to be continued....

some more bits I have are...

powdercoated blue hydraulic cylinder ( lhm tank )
phase 2 tail blazer
2 spare read brake calipers
1 spare front brake caliper
2 spare plips ( for central locking system )
car has genuine rear headrests fitted and not cut down front ones
car has genuine alloy wheels with new bf Goodrich tyres fitted that had done no more than 100 miles
2 brown Haynes mannuals
1 blue Haynes manual
1 pocket manual
2 pink citroen service mannuals
hydraulic pipe flaring kit with a small roli of copper pipe
new genuine citroen front to rear hydraulic pipes

again there maybe more but I cant remember everything off the top of my head.

I would like the car to go to an enthusiast who will rebuild it using all the parts supplied and not scrap it as its too goo to scrap. I am looking to offer the car, spares, accessories, mannuals, flaring kit, sphere removal tool, all new parts etc for a job lot price of £3000 and before anyone gets upset or starts jumping up and down, im well aware of what I have got in terms of value and what everything has cost me as I keep all my receipts and there is 3k of brand new parts there without the car, numberplate, flaring kit, accessories, used spares etc. the silicone coolent hoses, afm hose, spoox breather hoses and brand new front struts cost me £1000 alone.

Im looking for serious buyers only as the car is located in cornwall at my parents house and im living in Macclesfield and its not fair on my parents to mess them about as ive been messed about in the past.

you can either pm me on here or phone me on 07841 117265 but please do not leave a voicemail if it goes through to the awnser machine as I currently do not have a pin code to get in to it but you can send me a text. I work in the kitchen of a busy restaurant/hotel and cant always awnser my phone if im working so please bear with me and ill get back to you when I can as unfortunately this is the busiest time of year for me and im doing 6 day weeks of either days or evenings.

The car will need to be trailerd away as its currently not road legal and has no mot hence why im selling it as a project job lot
with all parts.

many thanks robin

No problems mike.

don't realy want to sell it but it has to go as I cant keep 3 cars.

I know its Christmas time and don't expect it to sell just yet but a few members have expressed intrest in some of the parts I have. if I was to split the parts and the car up and sell them separately. For the car with the numberplate c16vbx, the twin headlamps still fitted, the genuine headrests still fitted and the scorpion back box still fitted, back on its standard wheels with nearly new tyres, plus a big folder full of service history/receipts I want £1000 as its worth that stripped down in parts allday long. I couldn't and wouldn't take any less for the car alone. bear in mind though, you would need to buy your own parts to re commission the car.

some pics of the xsara wrc for you mike.....

body kit came off in half a day. once you know how to do it its easy. the first one we did was the grey phase 2 and that only took us a day to remove the kit. Put it this way its half a job done for the new owner.

I came from .com too, good luck with the sale Robin, I know the space problem well enough. :D

Reading that list of parts is quite worrying. The things one may need at some time!

I might be interested in this once I have some space, hopefully not to long in the future and depending on shipping costs
