2017 Who is on the road?

Post by Toddman »

My car G764KEW Is not quite there yet but hoping it will be soon :)

Anyone already enjoying the exclusivity of 16v ownership and actually on the road?

It starts and goes but just needs a couple of things sorting as you know. Would be nice to finally say I am.

Mine has been MOT'd in May after 4.5 years parked up due to a growing young family and busy at work on a large scale London based project.

Service and cambelt to do this month and then might actually put some miles on it 8)

BAH went back on the road last week, and will probably be on the road until the end of August/September. It needs a bit of welding, so long term I'm not going to keep driving it and let it get worse. I'll park it up and concentrate on some of the other projects and come back to it when I've cleared a few out!

J-ROL still going strong in East London. At the moment having a workhorse-type life lugging crap around while I refurbish the flat. It has an annual jaunt to the south of France, looking like that'll be October this year. Spot of welding required under the boot (quelle surprise) and the roof and bumpers are tatty now, but other than that pretty solid. Do around 4,000 miles a year.

The red 'un G500WAN and the Green 'un G49BBL are both on the road doing fairly modest mileages over the last year. The Green 'un has recently started smoking – suspected valve stem seals so will go to Andrew Weston in August for attention… And a Skoda driver tried to write it off earlier in the year by driving in to its side – it has few dents to be removed from the rear nearside wing as a result and had to have a replacement rear bumper – its now distinctly grey and green – grey bumpers and rear hatch… The red 'un has now done nearly 60,000 miles since I bought it in 2011.

I still haven't got Jazz back on the road after starting a manifold change 3 years ago!

Manifold is changed, its just the hundreds of other jobs that persist. She did go outside for the first time in a long while a few months back.

I am usually way behind on events but think 2019 is a Citroen biggie so might be a plan mate?

Done more miles in the phase 1 in the last 2 months than about the last 5 years combined, I reckon!

Will probably be tucked away before the end of the month before the roads get too horrid. Knocked a lot of jobs off the list over the last couple of months that I've had it with me in Surrey rather than down in Somerset. Few more I'd like to sort, like the interior heater fan that doesn't spin, putting a working cat1 alarm on it and some minor trim tidying. It's had new fuel lines, cambelt, thermostat, fuel tank level sender, gear shift linkage, FNS window mechanism and motor, lower ball joints, handbrake switch, oil change, accumulator sphere.

Pick it up from having a stainless exhaust, hopefully tomorrow, and will look to get the subframes refinished and all the related items in the spring. The front height corrector is playing up so that'll be overhauled at the same time. Will probably get the spare bumpers painted too :D

Yours looks stunning Dave. Saw Adrian's today, not bad for 30 years old.

Still trying to find some time to do the service and cambelt

Might be next year now before it does some miles.
