Oilseal-diff part number

Post by Dave »

Hi chaps,

Does anyone know the part number for the oil seal where the l/h drive shaft goes into the diff. There seems to be a bit of ambiguity at the dealers about it. I have 312144 at the moment, the same as saxos. Does not specify it very well on the parts list.
Prefer it to the Lamborghini, like Signor Gandini!

Hi Jay, clearly the top number you quote caused me concern being different to mine. I have checked with dealer, they are the same part, my number just supercedes the one you have.

At least we now know we have the correct part.

Thanks for answering.

Fitted the seal Saturday. Looked diff. to the original which had a toothed look to it. Howevever, whilst the new one is probably cheaper to make, it may be better. You just have to push the shaft into initially. Working fine.

When i last changed both seals on mine, the new ones had a different springy bit that holds the seal in shape compared to the originals so i think i may have had the later ones you talk about. They fitted in ok and are still working - i wondered whether they were wrong at the time but now i know why they look different. :)

I have loads of these, they're not OE but less than half the price and do the job just as well. PM me if interested.
