Not quite true.

6 speed box is one of the weakest in the range. ME type will take the power without a problem.

Cheers

There are some cars here (ZX16V) fitted with gearboxes from XanTD
and they claim higher top speeds.

Whole engine was checked by the best specialist I know. Have new scrapers ring o-rings (not sure about these expresions  ), head was checked, valeves were arranged et cetera et cetera.
Now is my wonderful 16v engine going out (so many memories, so many races won  ) and T16 is ready fot put in.

What an earth possessed you to buy a C5, unless its a new one of course. I learnt my lesson with BXs, let alone anything later :D
Would rather be driving ONE 16v,than fixng TWO.

NZ16, some of the newer models are great, my Berly 2002 1.4 just runs
no problems at all.
At 145k kms I have changed clutch set, alt., left power window, 2 link rods,
2 times timing belt, 1 x water pump , 1 frt brake pad set, 1 set frt brake disc, 2 x clutch cable. the rest are stock ori... most of the wear and tear plus P/W and alt were replaced at 125-130k kms basically I am very happy with it. Even a fren with a Xsara Pic and another with a C4 1.6 are pretty happy
not much problems.
