Wow, ive always though the AC pump mounts would be perfect for a rotrex supercharger, glad to see someone has tried it, cant wait to hear what it drives like!

hey timmo
the nimrods are cool arnt they? trouble with them is is the offset is way off for the Bx so ive had to use 16mm hubcentric spacers and 80mm wheel studs and then convert the 206 gti wheel bolts into nuts

pain in tharse lad......should have stuck with speedline's 8)

Apparently its been done abroad- i found this video a few months back.

:D £800 to £900 sounds good. The rotrex kits i was looking at were around £4k  . I take it to fit a supercharger you dont have to lower the compression ratio on the mi16? and also how easy was it to change over to a different engine managment?.

Im just starting a resto on my 16v (body and repaint) so its going to be a year minimum before i get to the engine but i was going to go down the throttlebody route but maybe i should think again about this :? .

If the Rotrex charger is the one off the stock Cooper S then you can pick them up for as little as 50 quid. My colleague had the original one from her Works converted Cooper S and struggled to sell it on ebay with a 50 quid starting price! It'd only driven out the factory and into the dealership before it was stripped off!

£50 for a rotrex sounds very good lol.

Ian,

If you get 5 minutes spare would you be able to pm me a complete list of what you need to supercharge it? ( pretty much what you have used ) that would be great.

many thanks rob

dudes
the new mini coopers use Eaton superchargers these are about 3 times the size as the rotrex......The rotrex itself only being the size of an alternator

The gear that ive used was all bought off a guy in ireland who broke a pug 205 dimma build buy Forge motorsport......Everthing from the pug, the charger, cooler and ecu boost pipes etc all have either been changed or altered by me to fit the Bx

If you can cope with the short wait ill put some pics up of it all completed as soon as ive got the gearbox back in and everything boxed up again

it does work really well with the kent 1604 cams...........almost 100bhp increase
if you do want to do it you really need to get hold of a Rotrex Sp30/74 charger.and its oil system......the rest is lashable :D
