I'd like blue, if possible, but even black will suffice. I am ready to pay deposit, I think. (No paypal, just bank account number, please)

I would probably get a set (if at the time of purchase it can be sent to Portugal), but will have to get 1 from the 5 "shelfed", since I'm pretty broke now, so I can't put the money for the deposit.

As previously posted the current price estimate is £260.

Appologies for the lack of postings from Phil and myself, work hasn't stopped behind the scenes on this. At the moment we are waiting for word from BakerBM to let us know when he is available to take on the work and take on the patern parts.

Once he has seen the pipes (and we have compared them to those he has already in stock) then we should be able to get a guaranteed price. The intention is that those interested will be able to deal with BakerBM directly, though this hasn't been finalised.

We will get our pipes, i'm quite sure of that!

Latest Correspondence From BakerBM
Hi Phil,

I haven't had any answer phone messages or emails from Vanny lately? I am here everyday.

How many people are interested now? I feel a 50% deposit will be fair.

The main problem with the group buy will be people dropping out when deposits are due.

I have no problem agreeing to a refund if the hoses do not materialise in a few months.

First things first, I need Vanny to send the hoses (or deliver them). From there we can get an accurate price.

All the best Stewart
I personally have tried ringing BakerBM 5 or 6 times in the last 2 weeks and not got thru. The saga continues. Regards PhilS

a 50% deposit seems fair!
I'll wait for the final price and open an ad on the Dutch forums.
I'm guessing I'll be able to have at least 3 interested person but this may well be more.

The set you are making, is that for an early 16v, or a later 16v? there is a difference in the botom radiator hose (different diameter at the engine side), and on of the hoses to the heater inside.

Bottom radiator hose:
DIAM INT :32-36-16
- SINCE ORG 04131 TILL ORG 05138
DIAM INT 32/32/14
- SINCE ORG 05139
bx 16v phase2 with original and working A/C and sunroof

Vanny, I appreciate a favour, pl;ease ask how much without
the heater hoses for me, colored either blue or red.,
then I will immediately transfer via western union the full amount.
Also postage to Malaysia and Luton (local)

What about the oil hoses?

Just returned from BakerBM and the news is good. It would seem that the hoses i thought might be a little complicated should actually be quite straight forward. In the case of the bleed valve on the pipe to the top of the radiator Bakers already have a proven solution to this complex piece of pipe.

The pipes will now be priced up fully and deposits will be requested. This is likely to take a week or so, so please start collecting those pennies!

Having spoken to BakerBM this is not unusual but well spotted. Apparently the Mi16 has a similar difference between early and late hoses. Based on the infomation from BakerBM and some research i have been doing, the difference is in the hose joiner/coupler on the back of the engine. The original engines had an alluminium block which rapidly deteriorated, this was changed to a joiner/coupler made of plastic.

The cost to make up both hoses would be rather prohibitive. I believe Citroen/Peugeot may well still stock the plastic housing, this would be a considerably cheaper option. I guess it may be possible to reduce the larger pipe with a suitable insert?

Surjit, Phil will be dealing with the commercial side of the arrangement so i will ask him to enquire about a set without the heater hoses, i suspect it might be easiest to buy a full set and sell the spares at a later point?

In terms of the oil hoses, no questions have been asked of Bakers regarding the oil hoses and i would prefer to keep things simple and get the water hoses boxed off before complicating matters by adding the discussion on oil hoses.

Colours
Ordering multiple colours might add an issue due to such low volumes. We will work on this, but it might be that only black hoses are available. That said, if there is a big interest in the hoses then ordering sets in additional colours shouldn't be a problem.

Hi All, - Fantastic Vanny.

We shall all wait with great interest.

I am personally after 2 red sets if possible.
Robin Hughes wants one Blue set.
Lets say 1 blue set for Surjit25.

Not sure what colour you want vanny?

From my initial enquiry, it would be mainly Black with 1 or 2 sets in another colour.

So it depends on the deposits. Once deposits made or with deposit to BakerBM say preference for colour.

I will not handle money but will give bank details for deposits to be paid directly to BakerBM.

it would be good for all people who have placed an order to disclose on this site so we can see what is going on etc.

Regards Phil.

Note, i think ive asked Stewart at BakerBm for the price hike for coloured. No answer yet.

Note on Oil Hoses. i assumed the MI16 put in a Pug 205 or 309 are ok. BakerBm make those already I believe. They have a special oil proof lining as silicon degrades.

they also do an air inlet hose from the afm to throttle body. i think that is too short but bakerBM said they might look at that in the future.

I think we should concentrate on the coolant pipes first.

Colour wise it's just a preference for me, if black is chosen for all then so be it, no problems with me....
I will e-mail direct to Bakers regarding my omitting the heater hoses
and pricing, as mine being the only car here, I would not be able to sell the heater phoses to anyone here, plus 260 quid plus postage is a pretty penny here.
