I'd certainly be interested at some point in the future, but not right now.

Bakers site is here; http://www.bakerbm.com/

They also have an eBay store.
Will they produce the AFM hose with the original size from the BX? I really need one for my car.

Can you show us a picture of the one you bought?

Will get a picture tomorrow.

From memory Bakers are willing to do a run of BX AFM hoses, they need at least 10units to make it worth there while. It doesn't look too much like the original, but fits like a glove on my car.

I think they are selling in ebay right?

I'm really interested in getting one for my car. Maybe here we could find out more people interested in a group buy. Its very common this hose getting damaged in the BX when becomes old, and Citroën doesnt supply it anymore.

Silicon Water Hoses

Post by phil.slater1 »

Hi, Ive spoken at length with Steward Baker at BakerBM. As Vanny said, sells what appear to be good stuff on ebay.

I am desperate for hoses and to be honest it seems that we are a way from hoses yet.

I explained the original plan, and also Vanny's info on some of the BakerBM hoses.

His response was if we could get a complete set together as samples for tooling, he could check for existing similar parts. From there he said he would fund tooling for the remaining assuming he has 5 customers for full sets. he would make an initial batch set of 10 and hold 5 on stock for others.

Ive just sold my spare car so cannot take the ones off my car im bodging. I am presently ringing round all Citroen dealerships in the UK to get the shagged ones. Yes this is a stupid method and expensive.

I appreciate the interest in the coolant hoses but I can count 10+ people who want a set now and I see no movement.

I also explained to Stewart at Baker BM that I feel all interested parties should be talkig to him with deposits so no person in the forum ends up with a large amount of hoses they cannot sell quickly.

I have no tie in with BakerBM, know little about quality of hoses etc.

Its just Im desperate to have the car working reliably over the summer and with the hoses all showing signs of leaking etc it needs sorting.

Im away for a few days but please comments on quality of product.

My reason for talking to BakerBm was engine mounts, compatibility of rear subframe mounts and the MI16 conversion similarity to the BX.

He offered me all the gear at the standard price but was happy to take any/all of it back with a full refund for what didnt fit. It seemed like a gentlemans approach to helping me out if he could.

He also said he has had quite a few enqueries about the 16V BX now also so was interested to be able to offer a kit.

I hope I have not stepped on toes/overshot the mark etc.

Regards Phil

Maybe any forummer here who is near to Baker's has a laid up car
can 'loan' a set . I have almost a full set but the postage from here will cost
half an arm.

Hmmm, posibilities, i've got a car laid up for another month, and i believe i am resonably close to Baker's. My obvious concerns would be a) lead time, b) security against a pipe getting lost, going missing!

I think i have multiples of a lot of pipes, so perhaps i can make up a full set.

To be clear, this would be WATER pipes only?

well, I'd be interested in water and oil pipes, but water pipes would be better than nothing.

I have two engines, so I'd possibly buy two sets, but I can't promise right now.
