Hi All,

I'll ring Stewart at BakerBM next week. I always said I would take a set and my mate also. I spoke to BakerBM about "Unknown Cost", no one can do that, I will talk to him again.

Vanny, is there any chance Stewart could see your hoses, then I believe he can check for similarity and see how many new ones are required. He cannot give a price otherwise. I will pickup your postage If you like. Use recorded delivery or something reliable.

I have cash for 2 sets available. I will check out with BakerBM, lead time, dealing with the first 5 people i.e. the money side of things.

As I said before, what about the quality. Vanny has dealt with BakerBM also.

I know there are loads of other people out there making hoses, and I have no idea of quality. Colour well I dont care, black would do me, or Red but its the functionality I require. I will ask.

A bright colour is useful to see where they are going, dull black epdm is always difficult to see.

Please all interested parties respond to this.

I just want hoses. Im sorry i cannot help with supply of hoses but if there are an odd one or 2 and as Vanny says the lead time to return of the masters and generation of the kit will help.

If we get 5, please all of you need to talk to BakerBm direct with Credit Cards or something. Promises and wishes dont make business go forward, it just wastes time. PhilS

Bakers are based about 30 to 45minutes drive from my house, but i regulalry visit Brum cutting about 25minutes fo the journey, so i would prefer to take the hoses to him at a mutually arranged time, especially if he only needs a visual on most of the hoses.

My engine is drained down at the moment, and i have new (used) replacements for the two modified hoses meaning i have a full set of OEM hoses.

Bakers where one of the first i know of to get into the uprated parts for Pugs, they are certainly established and not a new starter. I've never heard of ANY complaints in the 205 world, and I have had no problems with them when ordering the AFM hose.

There seems to be key things to look outfor when looking for pipe supplier and that includes number of layers, liner material, amount of reinforcement and the method for joining pipes. From looking at the Baker hoses on the website, and the AFM hose i have i would say that they are good hoses that are going to last and not cause problems. However i can't claim to be an expert or have much long term experience.

As a side note, i think once there is a ball park price I would be much happier saying yes or no. Currently i'm broke, but could aquire some money without much hassle, so i can only rank myself as a potential.

I know a couple of others who haven't posted here who i have spoken to and i know are interested dependant on cost.

I'll have a look and get the full hose list of Citroen Service.

I want a set but will contact Baker only after you have
shown the hoses to him, please give my name to them.
Also please note I want the set without the heater and
oil cooler hoses so that he can make one less set of hoses
as I per my request. Thanks a mill , mate..

this is the full set of coolant hoses as i understand it;

Image

orange are the heater matrix feeders
pink are the METAL runners round the back of the engine
green is the header tank multiblock (a swine to make i imagine)
red is the long main feed from header tank (i imagine might be a fiddle to make)
blue are the remainder of the main water pipes.

(It sounds to me like surjit does not want hoses 10, 15, 16, 17)

Vanny , that engine looks like it hasn't been washed from day one.
Looks like that green hose (no 13) is going to be hard to make.

surjit, your probably right! IMHO cars are to be driven, no polished. (though its nice if someone else has cleaned them ;) )

I've sent Stewart at BakerBM an email (including the citroen service image). I've let Stewart know that i have the hoses to clone.

I suspect he wont be too interested in posting to europe, but i've done it many times without a problem. I tend to use http://www.interparcel.com/ to get the best prices. I'd be happy to post to european owners so long as I receive full payent first.

Hi Chaps,

Further discussions with BakerBM today.
I have lead times for estimate. He thinks from Vanny's nice colour descriptive pic he can get a pretty good estimate.

I have been up north for work so I will update his time estimates tomorrow. They are quite quick.

Ill get back asap tomorrow.

Thanks again Vanny. He thinks he would need your hoses for 2 or 3 weeks to draw them. Then the tooling, then a full trial on a car, then 4 weeks to product.
He thinks 10 sets would be best with 6 or 7 black sets and ther rest various colours at maybe a heightened cost.

Bye. PhilS

Vanny, I didnt make it clear, the hoses would only be needed for 2 or 3 weeks. Then back to you.

Im very interested in a new set of hoses as well, black will do fine.
If possible I'd like to join this group buy. Offcourse if it's not too big of a hassle to send them to the netherlands.
Also I might be able to find some more people interested in a complete set.
You can't spell slaughter without laughter ->I just love my 16V<-
