Hi,
I used the hammerite with waxoyl throughout on mine. I bought this in the tins that can be pressurised with a compressor / schultz gun - and I'm well happy with the results :D

Good stuff, the one with waxoyl, the cheap tetrasyl is the stuff of legend which hardens and peels! The secret tho is getting it all bone dry and dust/mud/old crap free, if in boubt get some thinned out normal waxotyl into the front seams first and then put the other on And let it DRY before driving

I am a fan of Schultz myself but it is so much easier with a gin and compressor.
The good thing is that the BX seems sturdy so you don't really need to go mad at it to help preserve it just sensible proceedure I guess.

Any decent shot of alcohol is a definite precursor to getting under the car
