My new toy

Post by Jezziebx16v »

After driving round in a Buick and a Dodge Neon since living over here, I have finally found something a little better 8)

Basicly its a 1976 Mercury Capri, built in Germany for the North American market, then when it was 4 years old it was converted by ROKstock a tuning company in Oregan USA.
It was AFAIK given the full treatment I.E. Turbo conversion, lowered and uprated all round, uptated brakes, retrimmed seats, spoiler and wheels. ( sure i've forgotten some  ). It is alledgedly running about 7psi of boost and 180bhp
Not quiet a BX I know but my chance's of finding a 16v here is slim to say the least.

PS I know the pics are huge, sorry

Thanks Guys,

I'm pleased with it so far, has a bit of a drink problem but I have a heavy right foot problem lol so its to be expected.
It is quite quick compared to our 2.8i and the ride is VERY firm. Just going to enjoy it for a month or so then it will be tucked away for the winter and I'll sort a few jobs out for next summer 8)

It would probably be a close race in a straight line, similar book times to 60 MPH. As for the curves, I don't know, it is far from standard and the handling has been sorted :P .

Anyways they are complely different cars, hardly comparable really
