Sadly they have gone the way of the Bx 16Valve and at the moment:

Rarity does not mean valuable

This is something we have discussed countless times on here.

One day soon, the wider motoring public will realise that these cars have all but gone and it will be too late.

The only car magazine I buy is "Practical Classics" and they list remaining numbers of older cars left on the road. I bet they would be surprised to learn that only around 140 16V's are left out of 3430 sold in this country.

I'd Love a ZX, i really would, always liked them, the shape is just spot on, and Love 3 door sports hatch's!!
especially as the zx16v is essentially the same underneath as the 306 gti6!
would be fantastic to have a zx and a bx valver to play in, but sadly, money and space has always put and end to it!!
would be awesome though to have a Cx turbo, bx&zx valver and an ax gt/i ooh and add in a Xant Activa (ideally the euro 3l v6 spec) to play in! sadly though, i think that little lot would keep your local specialest in business for years!! :D

That would certainly be some collection ! My mate used to work at a Citroën specialist a few years back and a black Cx Gti turbo came in , 1 old chap from new , absolutley mint , the old chap had passed away and it had come into the garage for them to get rid of ,£1000 if I remember, don' t you just wish you could go back a few years !

Got a little job done on the Zx today which has been niggling me for a while but due to weather not managed to do , the rusty old number plate screws ,

Image

Drilled the old screws out applied a product called Iron Cut which is used to remove industrial fallout ( iron filings )

Image

The product is clear but when sprayed and it comes into contact with contamination it turns purple

Next up refit the plate , looking better for it

Image

And a few more pics......

what you wanna put on top of the sealant is some Collonite 915 fella, forlumalted for a Deeper shine on Dark colours, gives a Fantastic Depth to the car and a good 8 months protection from just one coat, double coat it and you'll be good for 11 months protection!!
is the wax i use on most cars now adays, that and its lighter coloured sibling 476s! (even use 476s on boats! )
will dig out a picture of the bx post full clean and a beading shot!

right!
post full clean, polished with Autoglym supreme (trade of Ultra deep shine) sealed with Four Star ultimate paint sealant, and topped with a single coat of colly 915.

i did do the mirror afterwards! )

Image

and the results of a Full machine polish, wipe down and poorboys word blue polish, Fourstar sealant and colly 915, the bald gangsta looking guys the owner/customer,
Image

the combo's give Great results and the added protection bonus for the owners,
for sub £50 for the lot you get a fantastic result every time!

august 2001 i bought the bx! was on 82k when i got it, 3 former owners, tidy but a little dull, wedge of receipts and full history, love driving it but has been off the road for the past 3 years due to health!
valeting wise, turned pro in '97 when i passed my test (had been doing for 5 years prior too for friends of and family for pocket money), worked for a fair few dealerships, franchised, private and private small traders, had to cut most of it in '04 when health depicted i couldnt do it full time so ave basically picked and choosen what i wanted to do since, have a lot of ties in the trade, mobile guys, units, suppliers etc. that get a lot of the guys i talk to, kinda do a bit of car cleaning consultancy as such, helping people get it right, what way to go products technique wise etc. sadly, i absolutely love cleaning cars lol, ive cleaned lord knows how many over the years but just love transforming them! sad hey!

I'll get some more pics next meet , there was a lot of old fooords etc and some VW stuff etc , should be a good evening when the weather gets better , there was a couple of Vw lads who were surprised when they saw the 2.0 16 valver in the Zx , I don't mind the Golfs but IMO not a patch on the French stuff of the time
